This page is for game ideas for VTGP Spring 2009. Try to think of
lots of new ideas before out next meeting.

Here are some ideas I have:
Idea #1: A 2D game where you build your own robots interactively using
pieces like wheels, jets, blocks, connectors, and weapons like lasers,
bombs, missles, and mines. This would build off the level editor and
physics engine of Plex. The main gameplay would be strategy, where
you could choose to place your different robots in a specific place on
your side of the map. You would fight the other side to try to
destroy their fortress before they destroy yours. As you build robots
the ability to place each piece in an arbitrary place would allow for
infinite replay value and innovation. You would also have strategy in
releasing the robots and racing to build new robots to counter your
foe's.

Idea #2: Continue building off of Plex: create a 2 player soccer game
where you can use your grapple whip to try to grab the block and swing
it towards your opponents goal. Perhaps have multiple blocks to avoid
too much fighting/tangling up with the whip.
Also, for the 1 player mode, could add damage as a result of velocity
of impacts. This would add an innovative aspect of gameplay where you
would try to gain momentum with the whip before hitting an enemy into
a wall. The enemies could possibly also try to throw you around.

Idea #3: Use the 3D engine of Plex to create a 3D lighting game where
the goal would be to use light to both illuminate your surroundings
and see enemies and to damage them. The game would be a type of FPS,
where you could upgrade weapons of your choice in specific ways.
Weapons could include light gun, laser, radial light that would
provide more light than damage, light mines, etc.
