Forest School Teacher Openings in Manchester

Hey VT Farm and Forest Schools,

This is Jessica at Fiddleheads Farm and Forest School in Manchester. We have a staff member leaving to have a baby this summer, and we are looking for a 3/4-full time forest school teacher this summer who would ideally be interested in continuing with us part time in the fall. And we are also looking for a special person to help with our Outsiders Program. This is a really fun seasonal after school adventure program that we have been running for 9-12 year olds. Think survival skills, hunting and tracking, foraging, fishing, amphibian surveys, lots of campfire fun. It has been a total bro-fest. All boys all the time, and it's been so great. But, we are a very woman heavy staff, and my awesome, very experienced part time dude team member is currently totally overwhelmed with running his tannery business and doesn't have time to help out with this program this summer. I would really love to find another experienced and competent male teacher for this program. It's been a fun, sweet group of boys, and the goals of the program are really just to connect with each other and have fun and meaningful experiences outside together. 

We would love to offer a couple of weeks of summer camp to this group. I could possibly provide modest accomodation to a teacher coming from afar for the summer session. It would be really great if there were someone close enough that they could help out with the seasonal afterschool programs as well, but right now I am specifically looking for a summer teacher. The week of the 10th and the week of the 17th are our target weeks for this program. It would be about 25 hours of programming, and we pay up to $25 an hour to experienced staff.
