University Community Feedback Requested: Office of Energy and Sustainability Intern Team Final Presentations
The Office of Energy and Sustainability would like to invite the entire VT and Blacksburg community to listen to the team's presentations and offer feedback on what you think will be feasible here on campus from your perspective. Friday’s presentations in the Presidents Board Room will run back to back from 11am-2:30pm. Snacks will be provided.
Friday, 4/29/11 from 11:15am-12:15pm in the Presidents Board Room, Burruss Hall
o Education and Engagement Team Final Presentation
o The team will be presenting on the framework and alternatives for a “Sustainability Advisors” program on campus that they have developed and a sustainability awareness video to engage the campus community around sustainable living. Major stakeholders will be invited to this presentation to listen to the student’s thoughts on different alternatives to program functionality and then offer feedback on what will be feasible here on campus. It is open to the entire campus community as well.

- Virginia Tech Campus Sustainability Portal Team Final Presentation
- The team will present the survey and framework that they have developed to collect information on all of the sustainability related activity that is currently happening on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg. This data will then be logically organized into a web portal that will become the communication hub for streamlining information about activity as well as maximizing the collaboration opportunities across campus divisions and colleges. A wide range of stakeholders will be invited to this presentation because it will impact the entire campus community. Anyone interested in this project is invited to attend.

- Virginia Tech Green Effect Team Final Presentation
- The team will present on the VT Green Effect t-shirt campaign that they have been working on since the fall of 2010. Additionally, the Office of Energy and Sustainability will briefly present on the summer intern team that will continue this work this summer/fall to complete a full assessment of Hokie football game day operations, develop the implementation plan for a zero waste football game for the fall 2011 season, as well as tie the VT Green Effect t-shirt campaign with that game as a fund generating program for sustainability initiatives on campus. All current and potential project partners will be invited to this presentation. It is open to the entire campus community as well.
