Thanks for setting this group up, Lucie!

I think we had a great meeting and good discussions.

CVEC (curriculum coordinators group) would really us to get on each
other's calendar a few times next year. We have MANY of the same
interests and concerns.

Of major interest for us right now is the re-development of the tech
GEs. We really wish there could be input from folks with a curriculum
expertise. GEs are curriculum and usually GEs are curriculum that
must be assessed. If it is assessed you can be sure that it enters
our world directly. Would be great to be working together sharing
expertise.

I see this group discussion as a beginning - what do you think?

Hello,

I agree with Ellen.  I expressed my desire to be a part of the re-development of the tech GEs and was told that the group had already started in on the work.

With that said, I do look forward to the opportunity to provide feedback.  I am also looking ahead and thinking about ways in which our two groups can operate as a collaborative team on some of our shared interests and actions.

I would be most interested to follow up with some of the ideas that were discussed at the last VITA Learn Meeting.  How do folks envision our two groups working together in the near future?

Stefanie

Thanks for starting the conversation.
Ed Barry is in charge of the VT Tech GE project. It appears that he
has put feedback from the curriculum coordinators on the agenda for
our next meeting. This will be our second meeting, so it is still
early in the process.
I'm woindering if one way to go would be to look for 6 curriculum or
content areas folks who would want to give input to the folks who
have been assigned to work on each of the six NETS standards. I can
suggest something like this at the meeting this week.

I personally envisioned something like this
1) http://www.ade.state.az.us/standards/arts/revised/FirstGradeArtsStandards.pdf

academic standards aligned to the ARTS (except for us it would be
the tech ge's)

or this

2) http://ca.mousesquad.org/Curriculum/standards/AlignGrade4.doc
which is Califronia standards aligned with Tech Tasks
(except for us it would be tech GE's)
