“Screen flickers when you start WPF applications in a Windows Server
2003 vSpace session”

Some customers have experienced issues using Microsoft Office 2010
applications (e.g. PowerPoint) on Server 2003/XP. The symptom of the
problem is the screen flickering or going black after the application
is launched.
This is a confirmed Microsoft issue and Microsoft have published a
hotfix for this:

The problem can affect any application that uses Microsoft's Windows
Presentation Foundation (WPF). Details are provided in the link
above.
NComputing recommends that you apply this Microsoft hotfix if your are
experiencing issues with applications utilizing the Windows
Presentation Foundation technology.
