Microsoft recently released a new service pack (SP1) for Server 2008
R2, Windows 7 (32- and 64-bit) and Windows MultiPoint Server 2010.
Also, on March 1, 2011 Microsoft launched the new Windows MultiPoint
Server 2011 – which has SP1 included. Not all versions of NComputing
vSpace support SP1 or WMS 2011 today, and customers are advised not to
upgrade their NComputing host systems until the appropriate vSpace
maintenance releases are completed. As a standard best-practice,
customers are advised not to use automatic updates for service packs
in production environments. Customers should always first confirm that
a given service pack is supported by referencing NComputing’s OS
Support matrix in the NComputing Knowledge Base. Second, even after
NComputing confirms support or releases updated vSpace software that
supports the service pack, customers should test the updated service
pack in a representative system prior to production roll-out, since
service packs can affect other software installed on the systems.
The current support status as of March 9, 2011 is as follows:
L-series:
vSpace L-6.1.2.5 (64-bit) supports SP1 on Server 2008 R2, MultiPoint
Server 2010 and also supports MultiPoint Server 2011.
vSpace L-5.1.3 and BETA-L-5.1.4 (32-bit) do NOT support SP1. A
maintenance release is planned for May, 2011.
X-series:
vSpace X-6.2.1 (64-bit) does NOT support SP1 or MultiPoint 2011. A
maintenance release is planned within March 2011.
vSpace X-5.2.4 (32-bit) does NOT support SP1. A maintenance release is
planned for May, 2011.
U170:
vSpace U-6.4.1 (64-bit) does NOT support SP1 or MultiPoint 2011. A
maintenance release is planned for March, 2011.
vSpace U-5.4.1 (32-bit) does NOT support SP1. A maintenance release is
planned for May, 2011.
