User access control software tip
Requirement:
Administrators may want to protect files and folders or limit access
to some programs by users permanently or for a time period.
Solutions:
One example of athird party software that can help with this
isAccess Administrator Pro (
http://www.softheap.com/acadmpro.html)
which enables you to deny access to certain files and folders, or to
hide them securely from viewing and searching.
It provides an easy-to-use user interface to allocate access to the
files and folders for your users based on predefined schedules. Each
user can have his own list of allowed and disallowed files, folders
and programs within a certain time frame.
Examples:
In office you can disable IE or other Internet browser and games
during business hours. For example, user "JohnD" can only use
Microsoft Office and Tally from 9:00 AM till 17:00 PM , but he can
also play his games and see pictures after 17:00 PM. But user "admin"
can have access to all files and programs at all times.
In school labs, you can define certain periods for students to have
access to the Internet, games and other programs based on the user
names.
