All of us being part of the creation want prosperity, peace and security in human life.
We must accept that GOD is the sole powerful entity in the creation, God has become everything, God is doing everything, and Only God exists. God is the only doer, rest is Maya, illusion, wrong perception/understanding. Hence to have prosperity, peace and security we have to depend only on GOD, we have to be truly religious, we must be true to the God dwelling within us. DO YOU BELIEVE THAT GOD RESIDES WITHIN YOU? ARE YOU AWARE OF THE PRESENCE OF GOD WITHIN YOU? DO YOU RECOGNIZE (REMEMBER ALWAYS) THAT YOU ARE GOD? This understanding, conviction on our inherent divinity is reflected in our personal as well as professional life. Swamiji said: “What else can make us miserable? The nature of the Soul is eternal bliss. What can make it sorrowful except ignorance, hallucination, delusion? All pain of the Soul is simply delusion… No life will be a failure; there is no such thing as failure in the universe. A hundred times man will hurt himself, a thousand times he will tumble, but in the end he will realise that he is God”.
Most of the human being has some divine qualities as well as animal instinct within. Most of us have desire for worldly enjoyment, desire for name and fame and recognition, most of us is slave to anger, jealousy, hatred, false attachment, selfish ambition, etc. These are our human weaknesses/limitations because we are not aware of our inherent divinity. At the same time most of us have love, compassion, unselfishness, bliss, forgiveness, contentment with us, the qualities which come to the surface when the mind is in the swattik state. Our objective should be to manifest the divine qualities by transcending our human limitations, weaknesses. THAT IS THE ONLY RIGHT ASPIRATION, THE ONLY WAY TO GET PEACE. And the way to manifest the divine qualities within us is to do more good work, think more holy thoughts, love and serve others and prayer whole heartedly for the wellbeing of others.
There are only two way to get ceaseless bliss. One is MEDITATION and the other is UNSELFISHNESS, selfless love and service, love without any expectation or selfish motive, love for love’s sake. We must worship GOD within through meditation and outside through selfless love and service. OUR ENTIRE LIFE SHOULD BE DEDICATED TO THE WORSHIP OF GOD.
To be absorbed completely within is the traditional way to get peace. There is another way to get peace prescribed by Swami Vivekananda is to give yourself completely for the welfare of the humanity. A combination is suggested for an average aspirant.
Unless we could see GOD within living human being and animals, it is never possible to see GOD in the temple. The same GOD dwells in every human being; hence the only way to get peace is through unselfish love and service. Anger, hatred, jealousy can never give us PEACE as those animal instincts results from the sense of multiplicity, meaning we fail to recognize the GOD dwelling in us also dwells in our enemy and our slavery to the animal instinct within us will definitely result in mental irritation and discomfort within us. Swamiji said: “Every being is the temple of the Most High; if you can see that, good, if not, spirituality has yet to come to you.”
Selfishness gives us pleasure, but UNSELFISHNESS gives us a higher pleasure/bliss. Selfishness gives us worldly pleasure and UNSELFISHNESS gives us divine bliss. If we are selfish we remain limited human being, unselfishness/expansion of heart helps us to transcend our human limitations and thus we evolve slowly to GOD. That is spirituality.
Our personality, our behavior, our attitude, our interaction with others, our talk and work depends only on our inner state of mind. Our mental purity is reflected in our personality, behavior and day-to-day work. Our sole objective is to be more and more pure mentally, to make our entire being more and more pure through continuous holy thoughts, good work and by becoming more prayerful/truly religious.
A leader or successful professional must always be full of ENERGY, full of INSPIRATION, full of BLISS, full of LOVE, full of RESILIENCE, full of SERENITY, full of SILENCE – we should always remain full of life and spirit – that is religion, that is spirituality and that state of mind UNSHAKABLE SWEETNESS OF DISPOSITION results from manifestation of more and more divinity within us through meditation, self control, selfless love, prayer and service.
One of our major problems is limitless worldly ambition which results from lack of clarity, wrong perception about the true purpose/ aspiration of human life. Another major problem is we do not give much importance to meditation, contemplation, inwardness, self-introspection, and self-appraisal. To improve the quality of life, to be more successful in human life WE MUST HAVE REGULAR DISCIPLINED LIFE WITH MEDITATION, PRANAYAAM, RYTHMIC DEEP BREATHING, PHYSICAL EXERCISE, YOGASANA, READING HOLY BOOKS, CHANTING HOLY NAMES, SINGING DEVOTIONAL SONGS along with our commitment to the workplace, family and society.
Meditation will help us to find out our limitations, meditation will help us to unfold the ocean of ENERGY, KNOWLEDGE, BLISS, the ATMAN within us. Meditation or Pranayaam is a must to have a life full of energy, inspiration and bliss. Swamiji said: “… call upon the sleeping soul and see how it awakes. Power will come, glory will come, goodness will come, purity will come, and everything that is excellent will come when this sleeping soul is roused to self-conscious activity… Stand up, assert yourself, proclaim the God within you, express the divinity within you.”
We must have an attitude of service in our family and workplace. Our entire life must be dedicated to the love and service of GOD in the human body, worship of living GOD. Sister Nivedita wrote: “If the many and the One be indeed the same Reality, then it is not all modes of worship alone, but equally all modes of work, all modes of struggle, all modes of creation, which are paths of realisation. No distinction, henceforth, between sacred and secular. To labour is to pray. To conquer is to renounce. Life is itself religion.”
We must have GOD/SPIRITUALITY as foundation of our personal life, professional life and family life. That is the only way to have security in this ever changing worldly existence. We must put all our effort to be pure every moment through holy words, holy thoughts and holy deeds and thus we must perceive, realize our identity with GOD, transcending our false identity as limited human being. That is the only way to attain perfect SECURITY and FREEDOM in human birth on earth.
If we accept this ever changing existence to be true, then we must put all our efforts to please the Divine Mother, the sole cause of creation, sustenance and destruction of this ever changing universe. We must always remain connected to the Divine Mother, the eternal living consciousness realized in the pure heart of a Rishi, take the Divine Mother to your fold, establish a relationship with the Divine Mother as shown by Sri Ramakrishna. This is only possible when our identity as limited human being get completely dissolved in the all-pervading consciousness, GOD, a state of perfect egolessness as shown by Sri Ramakrishna. Swami Vivekananda told, “… the Mother, is playing, and we are like dolls, Her helpers in this play. Here, She puts one now in the garb of a beggar, another moment in the garb of a king, the next moment in the garb of a saint, and again in the garb of a devil. We are putting on different garbs to help the Mother Spirit in Her play.” We must seek help from the Divine Mother in all our effort, initiative, and enterprise.
It is better to put all our efforts to manifest our divinity, to evolve ourselves to GOD, otherwise we shall remain slave of our animal instinct. Hence the only practical solution is more meditation, more inwardness, more repetition of holy name, more pranayama & physical exercise and to remain always full of life and spirit. And if you continue to lead this disciplined spiritual life for many years you must grow to be the condensed fire of spirituality and you will have the power to evolve the people associated with you to GOD through your spirituality. Until and unless you are able to suck poison from this world you won’t be evolved to SHIVA!!!
You are not truly religious till you can love everyone on Earth as your own. Your love in GOD is not complete, you are yet to attain perfection until you could embrace everyone as your own. Rationalize the ideal. Feel the ideal in the heart of your heart and then evolve yourself to the ideal to make the human birth successful. Dedicate yourself completely in the worship of living GOD within and without and thus realize the ideal – EVOLVE YOURSELF TO GOD – BE THE CONDENSED FIRE OF SPIRITUALITY.
Swami Vivekananda wrote: “Neither numbers nor powers nor wealth nor learning nor eloquence nor anything else will prevail, but purity, living the life, in one word, anubhuti, realisation. Let there be a dozen such lion-souls in each country, lions who have broken their own bonds, who have touched the Infinite, whose whole soul is gone to Brahman, who care neither for wealth nor power nor fame, and these will be enough to shake the world.”
