{VSC-IISc} Gentle reminder for VSC Session (16th December 2025-Tuesday)

The VSC session will be held in person and online mode today from 6.30-8.30PM at the Warden room in A block hostel(near hall above A mess, 1st floor). If you are not able to find the classroom kindly call to the number below. Anyone interested in joining the session online can use the following google meet link: https://meet.google.com/zfw-ahfa-qyp . Today we will continue the chapter from Karma Yoga lectures of Swamiji.

Meeting minutes of last class:

1. Morality depends on context and the same action can be selfish or unselfish depending on time, place, and circumstances. The core of all ethics is unselfishness across religions and philosophies.
2. Freedom is the goal of life, and every unselfish thought, word, or deed moves us closer to that freedom. The ego disappears through true selflessness and the “little self” naturally dissolves.
3. Karma yoga is the path of freedom through work, requiring no belief in god, soul, or doctrine, only the practice of selfless action.
4. Perfect equality and a worldly “millennium” are impossible as inequality is essential to creation. The pleasure and pain constantly shift, but their total amount remains the same throughout history.
5. Work binds us only when we desire its results, while even good actions done for reward create bondage. Buddha embodies the ideal Karma yogi working without motive.
