{VSC-IISc} Gentle reminder for VSC Session today(Monday, 19th May 2025)

The VSC session will be held in person and online mode today from 6.30-8.30PM at the Warden room in A block hostel(near hall above A mess, I floor). Meeting minutes of last week:-

 

1. In the last class we saw about some of the tests conducted by Sri Ramakrishna to Naren by avoiding him some or the other ways just to check if he is still interested to visit Sri Ramakrishna and Swamiji later told-"I love you and I come to Dakshineswar to see you and not with the intention that I will get something from you if I listen to you."

2. Interesting incident happened when Swamiji  was mocking Advaita, Sri Ramakrishna intervened and then touched Naren when he had a first glimpse of Advaitic state.

3. We saw that the three main factors for moulding Swamiji's character are - his spiritual tendencies, influence of his family and studies, his master.

4. In last week class, we also saw that the family of Naren was hit with a stroke of poverty when Naren's father passed away and when Swamiji asked Ramakrishna to pray for him, Sri Ramakrishna led Swamiji to the temple and told him to ask for the needed boon from mother. Even after seeing mother, Swamiji was not able to ask anything in the material plane and he asked for having Discrimination, Renunciation, Knowledge and Devotion and an uninterrupted vision of you. Then we also saw that, Sri Ramakrishna granted a boon to Naren that no one in his family will be in want of plain food and clothing (meaning they will not be struck with poverty anymore).
