Today we will continue SWAMI VIVEKANANDA A Biography by His Eastern and Western Disciples

Meeting minutes of last week:-

1. After Sri Ramakrishna’s passing, the disciples, led by Narendra, embraced a life of renunciation and formed the Brotherhood of Shri Ramakrishna at Baranagore, putting themselves to intense spiritual practice despite extreme poverty (though frequently helped by Surendra Nath Mitra).

2. Through immense physical and spiritual trials, Narendra evolved from a devoted disciple into Swami Vivekananda, a global spiritual teacher whose life radiated deep insight, compassion, humor, and divine inspiration.

3. Disagreements arose over the handling of Sri Ramakrishna’s relics, which were ultimately resolved by Narendra's wisdom. Some relics were buried at Kankurgachhi, while others were retained and reverently preserved by the monks.

4. With support from devotee Surendra Nath Mitra and divine visions guiding (through dreams and other ways), the young monks secured a residence, which evolved into the Ramakrishna Math, eventually relocating to Belur. Narendra consecrated the permanent monastery by placing the Master’s relics there with deep devotion.

5. Their unity deepened during a spiritual experience at Antpur, where many took vows of sannyasa. Despite hardships, their days were filled with study, meditation, music, and debate, forming the spiritual foundation of the Ramakrishna Order.

6. We also read The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Here we see that it affirms the dignity and equal rights of all people, including the right to freedom of religion, belief, and worship. It upholds religious liberty as essential to human conscience, justice, and peaceful coexistence.

7. We also read the DECLARATION ON THE RELATION OF THE CHURCH TO NON-CHRISTIAN RELIGIONS. Here the Vatican declares that all humans share a common origin and destiny in God, and that religions—though varied—seek answers to life's deepest questions. it also acknowledges and respects what is true and holy in non-Christian religions, encourages dialogue, and denounces religious discrimination, affirming the dignity of all people.
