Namaskar,
Vivekananda Study Circle (VSC), IISc, is pleased to announce a new lecture series titled:
एकं सद् विप्रा बहुधा वदन्ति
(Ekam Sat Vipra Bahudha Vadanti — “Truth is One, the wise describe it in many ways.”)
This lecture series aims to explore the rich philosophical traditions of the various schools of Vedanta.
In this series, we will invite scholars and practitioners from different Vedantic traditions such as
Dvaita, Vishishtadvaita, Advaita, and others. Each speaker will introduce the core philosophical ideas of their respective school and reflect on their relevance in contemporary thought and life.
We are delighted to begin the series with the inaugural lecture by Prof. Pratosh A.P., Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering at IISc. Prof. Pratosh has been a long-time student and practitioner of
Dvaita Vedanta, and will share insights from this profound philosophical tradition.
Title of the talk: “Philosophy – What the Heck?!”
Date: Wednesday, 1 April 2026
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Venue: Sarvam, 2nd Floor
Through this lecture, we hope to open an engaging conversation on what philosophy means, why it matters, and how the Vedantic traditions approach fundamental questions about life, knowledge, and reality.
All members of the IISc community are warmly invited to attend. Please contact our volunteers for any further information.
Warm regards,
Vivekananda Study Circle (VSC)
