Meeting minutes of last class

1. In 14th July class, we saw how Swami Vivekananda established Vedanta in the West through lectures, books (Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga), and the Vedanta Society.
2. His message was to strengthen people in their own faith, not convert them (how they should realize the truth within.)
3. He envisioned a bridge between East and West, combining India's spiritual wisdom with the West's scientific knowledge for the benefit of humanity.
4. Despite offers from Harvard and Columbia, he remained detached, refusing prestigious positions as a sannyasin and increasingly longing for spiritual solitude while continuing his mission.
5. He laid the foundation for a lasting global movement by training disciples, planning monasteries (such as Advaita Ashrama at Mayavati).
6. After this we completed reading chapter 9 Gita book. It was mostly the concluding part -
7. The spiritual journey begins with living a moral, disciplined life and seeking guidance, eventually leading to the realization of one's true nature as Pure Consciousness through study, reflection, and sustained sadhana.
8. After this we started reading chapter 10 Gita book.
9. A hungry person sees a fruit but has no money. The emotional mind wants to take it, but the intellectual sheath (vijnanamaya kosha) evaluates the options i)beg, ii)borrow, iii)steal, or iv)wait. Recognizing that stealing is wrong, the person chooses to go home and return with money later.
10. Annamaya Kosha (Physical sheath): The eyes see the fruit.
11. Pranamaya Kosha (Physiological sheath): Hunger and bodily processes (like salivation) are activated.
12. Manomaya Kosha (Emotional sheath): The mind desires the fruit and remembers enjoying it before.
13. Vijnanamaya Kosha (Intellectual sheath): The intellect thinks, "I have no money. Stealing is wrong. I'll come back later with money."
14. Ānandamaya Kosha (Blissful/Causal sheath): Past habits, values, and subconscious tendencies influence the final decision.

We warmly encourage everyone to join and make the most of this opportunity.
Regards
