URGENT: Jan. 29th Deadline, Carleton U recruiting Faculty, Post-Docs, & PhD students

I am sending this announcement on behalf of Mary Kelly.

 

The Canadian government has suddenly invested a lot of money into trying to recruit international AI researchers (PhD/PostDoc/Faculty), but have given the universities very little time to prepare for this. 

 

If you know anyone who would be interested in coming to Carleton University’s Department of Cognitive Science, please have them reach out to me verrrry quickly.

 

The deadline for applications is January 29th for guaranteed consideration. February 16th for a chance at consideration.

 

Carleton U/(& Canada in general) is recruiting at 3 levels:

 

PhD - for students who haven’t started a PhD yet, the gov’t contributes $40,000 CAD/year in addition to the funding package offered by the university.

 

Postdoc - for students who are finishing their PhD, this is valued at $70,000 CAD/year from the government.

 

Well Established Researchers - This is highly competitive, but Carleton University is able to offer between $500,000/year to a million/year CAD for this.
