Special Session on HDC and VSA in Neural Networks @ IJCNN 2022

Dear Members of the VSACommunity,

given the steadily rising interest in this field, I am organizing the Special Session on "Hyperdimensional Computing and Vector Symbolic Architectures in Neural Networks" at the IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI 2022), which will be held from the 18th to the 23rd of July 2022 in Padua, Italy.

The Special Session, which is hosted in the International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN 2022) of WCCI 2022, is intended to bring forth advances in neural network architectures and applications via HDC/VSA. Submitted papers should propose novel algorithms or systems based on neural networks employing HDC/VSA with the goal of showing new solutions to supervised learning problems and applications or providing original insights on neural methods. The topics of interest to be covered by this Special Session include, but are not limited to:

•  HD vectors as input/output to neural networks
•  HD vectors in randomized neural networks
•  HDC/VSA primitives in neural networks design
•  Explaining neural networks and brain-inspired computation with HDC/VSA
•  Energy-aware AI developments by using VSA computing
•  Theoretical analysis of HDC-based methods
•  Distributed learning with HDC/VSA
•  Hardware implementation of HDC-based architectures and systems
•  Applications of HDC in real domains such as Pattern Recognition, Time Series Prediction, Computer Vision, Language Processing, etc.

The STRICT deadline for full paper submission is January 31, 2022; please diffuse this call to whom it may concern across your network, attached you will find the CFPs of this Special Session.

• Title and Abstract submission: January 31, 2022 (11:59 PM AoE). New submissions cannot be created past this deadline.
• Complete Paper (pdf) submission: February 14, 2022 (11:59 PM AoE) STRICT DEADLINE

I remind you that you still have to create a submission on CMT before Jan 31st, but you can revise it and upload the final PDF by Feb 14th.
