I'd love to know that too, q4os is the only distro that worked well on my laptop, and the fact that they let us choose other desktop environments at install is just a minor detail that adds a lot. Right now my distro is fully customized I'd hate to lose everything. I'm kinda newbie so upgrading the os without reinstallation would be awesome.

E: This installation run will require temporarily removing the essential package q4os-desktop:amd64 due to a Conflicts/Pre-Depends loop. This is often bad, but if you really want to do it, activate the APT::Force-LoopBreak option.

An attempt to update stretch-gemini ended with the message "stop at the need to temporarily remove q4os-desktop and suggest setting the APT :: Force-LoopBreak parameter".
The command "apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade -o APT :: Force-LoopBreak = 1" ends up the same.
Please, be aware those instructions are more than a year old(17-02-2020), and by that time Bullseye was still "Testing", now you need to probably use "Stable" in that line, instead of "Bullseye", also, Gemini is Q4OS 4, so you could replace "deb q4os-3-0-cn main" for "deb q4os-4-0-cn main". I haven't tried that, as I've been running Gemini from the very beginning, but I think it might work. However, you might still get some warning messages like the ones you already have, thus you need to be prepared; back up your system and manually install some pkgs that might get removed after the upgrade process has been completed.

Development Pack is the recommended starting point for Q4OS developers, it contains programming IDE and various tools for developers to simplify creation of custom Q4OS applications and native installers. Q4OS 'Orion' 1.2.5 improves power management support and it's able to detect more types of external disk drives partitions. Desktop profiler tool has been optimized to install more accurate profiles. Several internal improvements and bug fixes has been closed. There is a new 'q4os-api' package, that establishes Q4OS specific application binary interface for C/C++ developers.
We exert considerable effort on the development of the Q4OS live installation media now. It could be released in about a month.
X2Go Server has been updated to fix the bug causing Server start crash on some platforms. The bug is related only to Q4OS versions 1.2.x 'Orion' with X2Go Server installation. Admins are encouraged to install the new X2Go Server release, the best way is to use Software Centre. The buggy version of the X2Go Server has to be uninstalled first with the terminal command:
$ dash /usr/share/apps/q4os_system/uninst_q4inf/uninstall_x2goserver-q4.esh
When I set up a Q4OS partition, I could not see an option in the Q4OS installer for dual booting Q4OS and Windows. Later, I discovered that the Q4OS website gives a method of dual booting Q4OS and Windows 7,8 or 10 using "q4os-winsetup.zip". However, a 15-year-old computer is unlikely to be running any of those versions of Windows, so choosing to install Q4OS on your computer might mean discarding Windows.
