Hi all,

I recently released the first version of an open source project called SCRAPE (SCReen Adjusted Panoramic Effect).  The idea behind SCRAPE is to improve accessibility to CAVE and 'CAVE like' environments for both experts and non experts supporting both high-end and low cost CAVEs.  SCRAPE does this by extending Processing to work in anything from a one wall CAVE to a six screen CAVE through the use of standard Processing libraries and a little code to gel it all together.  Once installed and configured with a simple configuration file, SCRAPE will handle things like synchronisation between screens, camera postions and movements, screen sizes, aspect ratios, controllers, stereo 3D etc.

Full info at: https://github.com/c-flynn/SCRAPE

Hopefully someone apart from myself might find it of use.

Carlos.

You are using Processing for that? Whoa, man, that is quite an achievement!

Processing isn't exactly the most advanced 3D graphics/VR toolkit (not
to mention atrocious IDE) on this planet, so hats off to you.

Jan

Processing certainly has its limitations but I've always liked it's accessibility and community support so thought it would be a fun project to do.

Most certainly. I am just admiring you for pulling it off - I was
tearing my hair out when I had to deal with the often half-cooked
Processing libraries and the terrible IDE.

Jan
