Hi all. Tried to use VPT7 on both my i3 Toshiba and i5 HP and have the same problem om both......once appropriate video is selected,  it does not show up in preview, output or even the small viewing window.  The laptops arent that old so surely it canrt be that the hardware is incompatible?  Ive followed the instructions and videos religously, deleted, re-downloaded etc etc, but no luck.  Anyone any ideas?

Hello Andrew,
It works perfectly on every win7 computer I own, i3, i5, i7 with HD3000, HD4000, and NVidia cards.......  but many have said on this forum that it doesn't show any video in win10.
Do you see the "corner drag handles" in both the preview and program windows when "drawcorners" is turned on?
Is your video file "good" for Vpt7?  I don't know which formats it can read, but as it needs Quicktime installed it can show .mov files, and probably others that quicktime can cope with.
I know .mov files work, but I have not tried others.
You should post a screenshot of the "max window" that can be opened from the menu.  The author will be able to help you then, if any help for your problem is currently available.
David.

and how weird is this.....fourth layer with no video attached but it has a functional chessboard.  Same happened when I added a 3rd layer but chessboard disappeared when I tried to add a video.Inline image 1

Strange that it doesn't run on the win7 machine.
I think you will need quicktime.......... and a 32bit java runtime (sorry but that is a maybe.... worth a try though).
The Quicktime install could be the problem.  If you search for QTCF.dll and copy it to the VPT7.exe folder and the windows sytem32 folder (I don't know whether windows 10 has one still!) that might help.
You should find it in C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem or C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem.
David.
