Hi, I i set up everything according to the online manual but I can’t seem to get osc to work.

I’m using touchOSC in an iPhone 7 and I downloaded a program called osc data monitor by kasperkamperman to debug the communication. When I set up touchOSC in my iPhone to send data to any port (I tried 8000, 6667, 6665 my computer received the data just fine. But When I set up the port 6666 It seems like its not receiving any data at all. Am i missing something? Thanks

an easy way to check is to go to the OSC tab, click on the monitor in button, change the osc send port to 6666 (click use to activate), then click on the test button. You should then receive a message at the bottom.

Hi, I'm going to "warm" this one up, as I just ran into the same problem. Running vpt on windows 11 Home, Buiild 26100.7840
I allowed every kind of connection, turned the firewall off, allowed "vpt8" as well as "MAX" to access through the firewall, I've done the above self send trick ... I can'Ät seem to get OSC out of vpt or into it.
I have tried sending and receiving OSC with touchDesigner on that very same machine and it worked.
I've also done a full delete and reDownload of vpt8.
Did something break ? I think I remember having used OSC before, years ago.

Any hints are highly appreciated

OK, found a solution. (at least for my problem)
MAX is very picky about the ports. So if 6666 is in use by anything, it will not listen to it. In my case Epic Games Launcher was using :6666 as well.

I cover the problem in my latest tutorial.

You can check if the port is occupied by going into terminal and trying >> netstat -aof << and then kill the process that occupies :6666
