Hi everyone, I downloaded VPT 7 from its website. There was no option to install, as soon as I downloaded it the folder had the application and I opened it and it ran just fine. I had the output and the preview windows. When I tried to add images or movies I did the following:

1) add layer
2) set layer to vid1
3) turned vid1 on
4) added an image

Nothing displays. I'm following along on YouTube videos, and they all seem to have no issue. Anybody have any idea of what I'm doing wrong?

I am having the same issue with mine. I am on Mac OSX 10.12.6

In the Preview and output monitor the windows have a black box the cuts out the edges of the corner markers. Am I doing something wrong, please help!

I am having the same problem - nothing in the output/preview.  Is there a fix?

Unfortunately the problem is not solved after installing a new version. Furthermore it's impossible to open any source files. Is it problem have any general solution or not?

YES!!! I am also having this issue, and can't for the life of me figure out why.

I have been using VPT for a year now, and never had the issue. Today, I opened VPT to work on a project, and whilst changing the source for one of my layers, everything just went blank. I tried to select video inputs, but nothing was displaying even in the monitor preview section. It had been fine when I first launched it. I tried closing and relaunching a few times but the issue persisted. Eventually, I uninstalled the whole file and re-installed it via the download again. I launched this brand new version of VPT I had just installed and nope - nothing. It is supposed to run the test clips when it first launches, but even they aren't displaying. I have linked the video folder in by dropping it in, I have selected and deselected monitor display, I have clicked the little display boxes on and off. Nothing. All I can create are solids - as soon as I try to load in outside media, it just will not display.

I'm on a PC running Windows 10. The strangest part in all this to me is that it was working fine, and then it suddenly wasn't, and there seems to be no reason why.

pls halp

Same here, I can't get anything to display. I've tried reinstalling, copying the folder tot he desktop, running as admin, nothing works. I know you said "its been covered" but I ahve searched and searched and haven't found any solutions.

This may be simplistic, especially considering the one who had it working only to have it stop working randomly, but before I could see any video on my windows machine using VPT7 I had to install Quicktime.
