Hi,
I just updated the spout module in VPT7 for windows to work with the latest version of spout. Spout is a framework for windows, similar to syphon for osx, that let´s you share video streams between applications.

Hi Everyone,

I am wondering if anybody could tell me if it is possible to add more than 1 projector in the output side. I would like project onto a big area and the only way to achieve this is by adding more projectors.

Also VPT7 would allow to blend these two projectors?

Hi,

I am really new to "video mapping". However I am trying to video map a dynamic animation done with "Processing". 

I think I might be able to pull it combining Processing, Spout, and VPT7.

I downloaded all but I don´t know how to make them work together, any pointers please?

Works!

Here are the steps, for less experienced users (like myself).

1. Download & extract files on first post on this thread.
2. Look for the "Processing" folder, inside the folder extracted from the Spout download. Run the "Sender" sketch inside.
3. Open VPT 7 02 and turn on "spout" source (you might have to scroll down the "sources" pane, took me a while to find this! [faceslap!]). Add that source to a layer. You should be able to see the result on VPT output screen.

Note: Reading the VPT 7 manual helps a lot!

Hi everyone, I've download this last version of VPT7 and the Spout 2.004 and I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro with a i7 core, a gt650m 2go.

But Spout input don't work into VPT7 for me. When I use the Spout demo sender, or via Winamp Milkdrop2, I receive them in the Spout demo receiver but I only have black in VPT7 (sure I turned on the Spout input) and it's also black in the monitor, and sometimes it crash ... 

If you can help me could be awesome ! I know some month ago with last versions it works, but know I come back from a long travel and it don't work on this same computer ...

If you have any idea please let me know :)

the 2.004 version of spout came out after the VPT update so you should try with 2.003 instead.

Thanks hc for your answer. 

So it's still black on VPT7 02 nothing changed, but I received the spout demo sender on VPT7 01 with the spout 2.003. 

But with Milkdrop2 I received it well on the spout demo receiver and it crashed on VPT7 01, with the vis_milk2.ddl from 2.004 and from 2.003 "Max (32 bit) crashed" .... 

Do you have an idea of where is the problem ?

I have only tested it on my windows 7 setup using the 32bit version. It works fine with demo sender and receiver as well as processing in and out of VPT 7 for me. Apart from that I am not really able to offer much support on spout, knowing that the developer have had some major headaches with all the different drivers and graphics cards existing on the windows platform.

I will probably update to the 2.004 some time if that seems to be a stable release.

Please forgive the ignorance, I am trying to use VPT for a Christmas Light Display at my house. I do pretty well with techie type stuff but all of this is going over my head. How do I "run" the sender sketch?

Do you mind explaining what does your Christmas Light Display consists of? A clip? a "Processing" sketch?

Try explaining step by step what you are trying to do, and the results you are getting.

Here is a video of our display. I am wanting to use the projection for 3-4 songs without using the lights. It will give us more dimension in the show. I want to map our house using different layers, select different Christmas themed media sources (falling snow, santa, reindeer etc.) and project them onto the house. In order to do so it will need to be automated and the software we are using for our lighting can play a video file (mp4 for example). I have so far been unable to find a way to "export" the layers from VPT7 into a video file that I can put into premier, add music to, and then place into our automated show. Does that make sense?

If it works (it probably does but I have never tried!) then drag your VPT output screen to your desktop and run it there for the screen capture.  If you need more than 15 minutes then make many and stitch them in Premiere.

Oui j'ai essayé dans cet ordre et même dans l'ordre inverse. Cela ne change rien...

Je pense à un problème de compatibilité win10 64bits,

En fait le message lorsque j'allume spout et que MAX a rencontrer un probleme et à cesser de fonctionner mais je n'ai aucune raison dans le message d'erreur.

Tu peuz trouver ca aux "right clic on shortcut".

Si ca ne fonctionen pas, tu pourrais faire une installation de Win 32-bit faire un "switch". Cette derniere option est un peux plus laborieuse, et il nya pas acune garantie...

Hi, I can use VPT7 with Spout and see the (spout)frames in the preview and in the output window. It works. BUT If I switch the output-window to fullscreen everything is black and I see nothing. Any ideas?

Thanks for VPT! The software has given me many beautiful days. It is really versatile. Have designed interactive installations with children and much more.

With Spout came exactly what I was needed. But I have two problems.

If I place over VPT 7.1 or 7.2 "Spout on" it crashes. I have tried it with different spout and VPT versions. Nothing helps.

Via the webcam - spoutcam input I can take the processing spout out. Here I encounter the problem that only resolutions up to 1024/768 are supported. But other resolution are realy needed: 1280/768 or 1920/1080 or best future safe 4K. I think it is not mutch work zu chance it. 
I can make by my self when i have the source - and i can give back in the comunitie - when i have time. can we work together?

In case you are interested, here is a small patch-template for SpoutSender from Processing.
It is a modification of the original patch from Lynn Jarvis and Martin Froehlich's Spout for Processing library.
Note: commented in Spanish.

thank you for reaction ... but processing is not the problem in the moment. i find many good scripts and i try out close to all option. processing + spout work good.
vpt 7 can input spout about liveinput. but i whant the resolution higher. more pix - better grafik. :D

Hi,
the updated version of VPT will support spout receivers at least, currently sending spout from VPT crashes VPT.
Expect something to try out maybe already tomorrow.
