Business and Human Rights CSO meeting in Portharcourt

[Stakeholders Roundtable on VPs in Nigeria]

LITE Africa would like to invite you to participate in the first CSO Roundtable on Business and Human Rights meeting to be held on March 12, 2013 in Port Harcourt, River State.

This Roundtable will form a crucial part of our current campaign to ensure CSO coordination and work towards Nigerian government signing up to the VPs. Your participation is essential.

The purpose of this roundtable is to follow up with other multi-stakeholders engagements that have been organized and explore means to articulate CSO campaign and potential project issues on VPS and work towards developing concrete steps towards active implementation in Nigeria. The roundtable will achieve the following:

·         Identify VPs drivers and challenges in Nigeria

·         Establish  the Nigeria CSO Coalition on Business and Human Rights
-       Develop strategies for CSO/Private sector/community dialogue
-       Develop media and awareness creation strategy on VPs implementation in Nigeria

·       Provide learning environment regarding some of the concrete practices put in place by stakeholders, including how this relates to emerging expectations (from government, civil society, corporations and wider societal expectations).

The event will hold as follows:
