HI All, The Arc of Virginia website has info on this change from MR to
ID. At an Arc board meeting, I learned that the Code of Virginia will
use 'people-first' language so that the references will be to
'intellectual disability' rather than use of the adjective
"intellectually disabled". Would it be possible to update the letter
to encourage 'people-first' language? thanks for your consideration!

I took the liberty of tweaking Jackie's letter, as I think she's away
on vacation. Hope it works better now.

It was one of Jackie's letters; it was on the VPSAP site, but I don't think it went to VDOE.
