The Harmony hub solid Red light happens when the harmony hub is not available, most commonly because it is either syncing with the cloud account or downloading a firmware update or your Wi-Fi is offline.
On my Harmony Remote I have created several pushed buttons "ActivityID". One of the pushbuttons I use as a toggle to turn on and off my lights. I understand the code is looking if the button is active. I see in the code a variable that a status state has been changed base active or not. Is there a status state of the pushbutton from the harmony system. Whether it is active or not. The code is looking at ActivityID as radio buttons.
About month ago I bought my first Sonos product, Beam Gen2, added it to my tv and harmony hub. Worked flawlessly. But now the volume will not work on the harmony remote. I rebooted and relogin into to my harmony account and recreated the activity started working again for about week now its not working. Had a Yamaha soundbar for 7 years and never had an issue. Not sure if they is a harmony or Sonos issue but hopefully there is a work around soon or software update to fix this issue. My wife is not happy so I am not happy. Anyone know if this has been ifxed or still an issue. Thanks in advance
5 harmony hubs.
Everything with static ip that needs it.Port triggering so multiple addresses can receive port 5222.Hubs are setup like this,
1 hub in master bedroom which controls, tv, comcast, bose sound bar, 20 lutron switches.2nd hub in living room controls, 3 tvs, marantz receiver, 2 directv boxes, 1 comcast box, apple TV, Q box.3rd hub and 4th hub control 2 tvs and comcast box.5th hub is outside on the pool deck and controls directv box and tv.So with all that said, the person don't really need to control tvs and such from outside the network, but part of the lutron switches need to be on one of the hubs, so that needs access or interface will show errors. When your outside the network the harmony app connects through the cloud, revealing the system. So how do they handle that connection? SSL, https? Do you know?
I want to add the Apple TV as a device, and I know it's possible, but I don't know where to find the right device in the harmony menus. I know it's possible, as i know others who have done it in the past, but am no longer in touch with them.
@jayeff yeah, it's tough for me to tell what is or isn't missing. The picture of the motherboard removal is very blurry. I would think if something had broken in mine a piece would have been rattling in the remote or come out when I opened it. I find it tough to tell. When I look inside, nothing looks like something broke off, but who knows? thanks for your input! I may have to move away from Logitech after 14 years. This remote was great, and my fifth harmony remote, but this issue makes me not want to buy another. I like physical buttons, so I don't like the LCD ones and the 650 is the worst I have had of the 5. Fortunately , I can use the app on my phone for now.
Apparently Harmony hubs don't like mesh wifi SSID's much at all... sometimes I can go days with my hubs remaining connected (green light), but then I have times they disconnect multiple times a day. The only way to successfully get it to reconnect requires me to turn off my additional 2 eero's leaving only my main one powered. The logitech harmony hubs then take a couple minutes to jump back on and then I can re-power the 2 eero's. Not sure who can better fix this issue, eero or logitech... or better yet, maybe Eero can work with logitech to make this issue better for all... Thoughts?
I have been having off and on problems with my harmony hub disconnecting too for months. I have tried contacting support but at the time they weren't able to see anything that looked wrong from the eero logs.
I have two harmony hubs and have not had any issues with them connecting. Both on wifi to ethernet-enabled Eero units in two different parts of my home, so connecting to two different Eero's. I do try to update them about every month with any firmware updates.
The harmony 550/555 remotes are variants of the 525 remote. Compared to the model 525, the 550 and 555 have two extra buttons, and are made of higher grade materials with different colors. The 550 and 555 models both have a sound and a picture button that changes the button mapping on the remote, allowing for reuse of the same physical buttons for different set of functionality. 52 buttons.
The harmony 785 is nearly identical to the 720. While the 720 has 49 buttons, the 785 has 53. The extra buttons are the red, green, yellow and blue colour buttons commonly used for things like teletext and PVR control. These are located above the number buttons, which are placed further down compared to the 720. Another difference from the 720 is that the 785 can control up to 15 devices.
I successfully used IR and Logitech harmany to control the digital volume of GLM tonight. The main solution is to use an infrared controlled 10k digital potentiometer board. Of course, you need to teach the infrared code to the harmony. And, it only costs less than $10, for your reference.
Hi All I have been working for some weeks on building a completely local simple harmony hub integration that will Execute completely locally - not requiring additional software running elsewhere / on a different machine Edge based Simple bridge...
I seem to recall a couple of years ago that I had to bluetooth to a Logitech keyboard in the Roku menu to get the Harmony Elite remote to work. But I can see no option of that kind any more in any of the menu screens, including "remotes". I tried programming the buttons individually as my logitech harmony recognizes that there are no commands for "ok", "left", etc. in the Roku activity - but it won't recognize them when I use the 'learning' feature.
We retrieved this firmware and examined the file. After extracting a few layers of archives, the firmware can be found in the harmony-image.squashfs file. This filesystem image is a SquashFS filesystem compressed with lzma, a common format for embedded devices. However, vendors often use old versions of squashfstools that are incompatible with more recent squashfstools builds. We used the unsqashfs_all.sh script included in firmware-mod-kit to automate the process of finding the correct version of unsquashfs to extract the filesystem image (Figure 5).
