im in the mood to make playlists and got the idea for kpop songs with colors in the title. it can be any group and genre, and rainbow can be in the title too! also if theres an idea for a fun name for the playlist that would be much appreciated :)
I tried with a multitude of groups and limited myself to just one song from a group, but you can do this with your ults, your current playlist, or any song that you think fit the color! There are no wrong answers!! Also let me know if you would change or add anything in my list
Definitely one of the most visually provocative MVs from recent years. Orange is used here as a warning of bad things to come even down to the amount of orange in each of their hairstyles. It also works to balance with the freshness of the song, using a red instead might have been too severe.
VIXX: RED WHITE & BLACK(from the comment I left in the last post)VIXX's recent videography (like post-dynamite to present) consistently uses 3 colours: White, Black & Red which are used to create a clinical ominous and tense atmosphere. They use red differently in Scentist (desire and lust) compared to The Closer (danger and risk) and Fantasy (evil, temptation and sin) but white and black are consistently used to build tension between good and evil. The videos where white is mostly absent are usually the darkest thematically/ones where they're in the most danger in the story.
Their further songs and albums, ?ORANGE and ?YELLOW respectively, both received timely success as well, with Helianthusia, the lead single of ?YELLOW winning the girls the 1st spot on the Gaon Digital Chart and Vie en Beaute, the lead single of ?ORANGE winning the girls their first music show win on Mnet's Music Bank. The group then made their debut in China with the extended play ?PINK, comprised of their lead singles in Mandarin.
The group debuted with the studio album ?RED alongside with the upbeat pop song Red Rain as their lead single. The song immediately gained traction for it's "bouncy" choreography, one that hadn't been seen in girl groups before. As mention by Junwon in an interview, the song's choreography takes inspiration from acrobatics and circus acts to bring a fun experience to viewers. The song charted well, peaking at 2nd place on the Gaon Digital Chart.
On December 1st, 2014, the group then released the special Christmas single ?YELLOW along with the song Helianthusia. The song peaked on first place on the Gaon Digital Chart for 3 weeks, becoming one of the first girl groups from a non-popular agency to do so. The subsequent promotion of the song then marked their second win on Mnet's Music Bank, and their first in MBC's Show! Music Core and SBS's Inkigayo. A week after ?YELLOW, the group released a special Christmas song titled I Will Love on December 9th, 2014. The song was later used as the intro music of the K-Drama "My Heart's Snow-touched Kiss".
On July 13th, 2015, SuperSoul Entertainment announced that the group would make their next comeback as an octet without Mingyue and Meihua. The lead single of the album, Loving Fever, and it's album, ?GREEN was supposed to be released on July 20th, but it was delayed to July 8th due to member Heuira's leg injury. Loving Fever managed to be their second song to reach 1st place on the Gaon Digital Chart, and their official music video managed to gain 3 million views in 24 hours.
On November 19th, 2015, SuperSoul Entertainment announced that the group's next comeback would release the next day as a surprise album. The lead single of the album, ?BLUE, Fairytale, was praised by critics as a deviant from the usual style of cute songs. The song only managed to peak at tenth place on the Gaon Digital Chart, leading to netizens believing the group would reach a downfall.
On February 14th, 2016, the group announced that they would make their next extended play in China, ?NAVY, which would consist of all of the previous lead singles with the exclusion of those in ?PINK. Additionally, the group produced 3 new Chinese songs with the help of "some people". It was later announced by the company that "some people" were Meihua and Mingyue who had returned from their activities in China. The next week after that, SuperSoul Entertainment announced that they would be merging with another entertainment company to form SuperSmileyFace Entertainment.
On August 3rd, roughly five months after the sub-unit releases, the group announced their next album, ?PURPLE. Juhwang was announced to not be in the comeback due to an injury she had sustained while practicing. The lead single of the song, Soulish, peaked at 6th place on the Gaon Digital Chart. SuperSmiley Face Entertainment then announced the group would face a temporary hiatus for the members to release individual songs. Junwon then began her career as a soloist on March 23rd, 2017, releasing the song "Lovelife", which peaked at second place on the Gaon Digital Chart. On October 12th, 2017, the group would release their last single album, ?WHITE, with the title track of the same name.
The single "Paint Me" was first released on January 4, 2018 as a prelude for the project. The song was later included in the project's first extended play Yellow Flower, which was released on March 7, 2018. There were MVs released for the songs "Star Wind Flower Sun" and "Be Calm", with the latter being Hwa Sa's solo song for the EP.
Before the release of the project's second extended play, Moon Byul had debuted as soloist with the single "SELFISH" featuring Red Velvet's Seulgi on May 23, 2018. The song was then included in the EP RED MOON as Moon Byul's solo song. There was also a pre-released single titled "Rainy Season", which was released on July 1, 2018. The EP as a whole was released on July 16, 2018 with the title track "Egotistic", and MAMAMOO usually performed "Sleep In The Car" alongside the song on music shows.
The third extended play of the project, BLUE;S, was released on November 29, 2018 with "Wind flower" as its title track. On music shows, they usually performed the song with "No more drama". Solar's solo song for the EP, "HELLO", did not have an official MV, but instead, Solar released a dual pole-dancing video of the song on her channel solarsido.
The project's fourth and last extended play was released on March 14, 2019, its title being White Wind and having the song "gogobebe" as its title track. MAMAMOO usually performed the song Waggy alongside "gogobebe" on music shows. There was an MV for Whee In's solo song "25" for the EP, and there was a special video titled "4season and 4color" using White Wind's outro "4season" as its music.
During the releases of the extended plays, MAMAMOO made their debut in Japan on October 3, 2018 with the single album Décalcomanie -Japanese ver.-. The album's title track of the same name is the Japanese version of the group's song "Décalcomanie", and there was also an additional track titled "You Don't Know Me". The group then released their second Japanese single album called Wind flower -Japanese ver.- on February 6, 2019. The album's title track of the same name is the Japanese version of Wind flower, and there's also an additional track titled "Sleep Talk".
MAMAMOO later released a Japanese album titled 4colors on August 7, 2019. The Japanese version of "gogobebe" is considered as the album's title track, and all of the songs from the previous Japanese single albums were included. In addition to the previous tracks, 4colors also contained the Japanese versions of the Korean EPs' title tracks, the solo songs of each EP, and a new song called "Nada Sousou".
Generally, the way the groups were formed was very predictable and typical. Each of the members of each group share roughly the same images (especially notable for the girls) or skill sets (more prominent with the boys). From the sexy and sensual members of Dazzling Red or the more feminine and cutesy girls of Mystic White, it was pretty easy to predict what type of songs were going to be given to the groups. Likewise for the males, the members of Dramatic Blue were dominantly the main or lead vocals in their respective groups, while Dramatic Black was composed of mainly dancers or rappers, with sole exception of Jinwoon who was likely added for vocal support. And while these set-ups were very predictable and unimaginative, they probably worked best for their respective idols. As all of them share similar images, their respective producers gave them songs they were all able to work with, keeping them in the environments they work best.
The execution of the group is on-point, as all the members manage to embody an intensity needed for the song. Jinwoon undoubtedly carries the group vocally, but Kikwang, Joon, and Hoya were more than able to provide vocal support. Hoya in particular impressed with his surprisingly stable vocals. The rap section featuring Hoya and L.Joe was also nicely implemented, making for an overall acceptable, albeit unspectacular listen.
On January 17, MyMusicTaste announced that LOONA would be holding their first offline concert in three years, LOONAVERSE: FROM, at Jangchung Arena in Seoul, South Korea.[28][29]The event spanned two days, with the second day featuring a live stream for international orbits. The concert was initially supposed to only last for one day. However, due to high demand, MyMusicTaste announced a second date on January 21.[30] On February 7, BlockBerryCreative announced via fancafe that Chuu wouldn't participate in the concert due to health issues.[31] Regardless, she made a brief appearance at the end. During LOONAVERSE: FROM, they premiered Playback, a self-written song dedicated to Orbits.
