Hi, I have a son who really wants to do a VoxCad robotics project for his school science fair (he found some great VoxCad project ideas on the Science Buddies website), but we are a 100% Mac household. Any projection for if/when VoxCad will run on an Apple computer? (In English, please--I'm not the most computer-savvy person!)

Hi Melinda,

I reached out to the voxcad network to see if anyone has compiled on mac, but haven't heard back anything affirmative yet. The only thing preventing voxcad from running on a mac is theoretically just a few minutes creating the appropriate files, but I don't personally have a mac to do this on. Eventually I'll hunt one down but there's still a lot of work going on under the hood that keeps me busy for now.

I know several people have run voxcad on mac using parallels, but this probably isn't the best solution unless you have other reasons to run windows applications on your mac.

Thanks, Jon, I appreciate your response, and I will check back periodically to see when VoxCad becomes Mac-compatible. I don't anticipate my son's interest in robotics flagging; he's only in 6th grade, so theoretically there are many more science fairs in his future! (He decided to do a project comparing algorithms for solving the Rubik's Cube this year.)

Just run it using the converter program Wine.
