Request to undertake an e-campaigning for Lok Sabha elections

Dear Vote Left Members,         I request you to undertake an e-campaigning highlighting the acheivements of Left as part of Lok Sabha campaigning.   Some suggestions from my side :   1. A presentation including brief struggles by party for workers and farmers and formation of states, the unique achievments by Left govts, comparison with other states based on certain specific data, how workers and peasants and common man are in a better position in Left ruled states compared to others, more communal harmony etc.   2. A presentation of the damaging economic policies of UPA & NDA govts from the onset of liberalisation with data, Corruption of these govts including the corruption, nepotism etc of all Congress govts from Nehru, dark ages of India such as emergency, anti-sikh riots, insurgency in North East, Communal riots, terrorism,  Mafia, and all anti-social activties   3. A presentation on all the struggles and protests by Party for farmers, workers (from daily wage worker to Public Sector white collar employees) , marginalised communities etc with data, the cases of success and martrydo caused by Party members with data.   I don't know whether Vote Left has already undertaken such tasks, but pdf and presentations which are more readable than big articles could be used by every Left supporters.I suggest a presntations of 15 to 20 slides with points, data, cartoon pictures which is readable within 3 to 5 minutes per presentation would be best.......   Thanks & Regards Nidhin

Dear Nidhin,

Thanks for the email. Your suggestion is very good indeed and it is on the lines of what we are thinking too. We too want to campaign specifically for the upcoming elections and hence need short highlighted points instead of detailed descriptions. So slide-shows and pdfs would be very good.

But we are in absolute dearth of time and human resource. So it would be very nice if you could make some for VoteLeft 2009 and that will be published from our side (in your name if you wish).

Also I believe that you are into software yourself. May be you could help us with a few technical things too from time to time?

Dear Sukanto,      I would have loved to do so, but the same lack of time is the problem for me too. If any one you commits time for this, I can give some input from my side and try to link up others too who could contribute time for this. We think the following should could be a broad guideline:

1. Highlight Left achievements. For this you could refer to the three Leftr ruled states' development figures before and after Left rule. Be sure to compare them to the national averages. Also bring to the fore the Left's undeniable contribution to protecting the common man's interest be it anti-privatisation and disinvestment stand points or opposition to FDI in retail banking that has now proved to be a boon. Read the agri policy of the Left a bit to show how the Left had warned against the neo-liberal policies pursued by the Congress and the BJP. Also highlight NREGA.

2. Highlight the untainted profile of the Left and its leaders when parties of the other political thoughts are seeped in corruption across ideological lines.

3. Expose the myths created by the BJP about its tag of "party with a difference". Show with facts and figures how the Gujarat 'success' is an eyewash. Also bring to the fore how the BJP's hate campaign is its most consistent agenda. Expose their hate mongering in the guise of nationalism.

4. Show the betrayal of the UPA by highlighting the gross deviations from the Common Minimum Program.

5. Refer to the speeches of Left parliamentarians and highlight their key statements.

6. Show the UPA and the NDA's disregard for the parliament and democracy sighting their absenteeism and not calling parliament sessions.

Dear Comrades,
I am happy to see that efforts are being made to work out strategies
for election 2009 campaigning. And internet media is used.

There are mainly groups / communities to target:
1. Educated people / middle class
2. Farmers and workers – majority are with basic or no education

So we can have different strategies with same goals for these both
groups. Current, goal is to make people understand left’s contribution
to the nation and mobilize them to vote for left.

So, for first group, I will suggest:
Talk / Write about:
Left parties’ great contribution is to make / influence government
policies with purpose of integration of interests of marginalized /
poor people and strategic development of the nation. Their
contributions are RTI, their contribution is saving nation from global
economical crises etc……… and this has helped in:
• Our (India) stronger position in international communities;
• Fair process of globalization and development across all layers of
the society;
• Consideration of interest of marginalized and economically poor
people and more opportunities
• Transparent, Just, and Accountable Governance

But, yet long way to go…..
And only and only left parties can do this and make our nation most
powerful on this planet (in terms of not only economy but also
employment opportunities, better living conditions, dignity and
peace). Because, left -Communist Party is a Global Party and it
carries great experiences and support from all over the world. It has
well established values, principles, and mission. And people
associated with this / these parties are most qualified, transparent,
accountable, and pro-people…….

Basically, people are part of the socio-political – economical system
but not parties (we can see how other political leaders are changing
parties, just like) And we – lefts work towards stronger system and
nation……….

For second group:

Left parties great contribution is to make / influence government
policies with purpose of integration of interests of marginalized /
poor people and strategic development of the nation. Their
contribution are RTI, their contribution is saving nation from global
economical crises……. But this group people may not understand all
this… it takes time… So,

We should take examples from around these people, about, how life has
been progressing in last 10-60 years, how inadequate and un-
proportionate development is taking place, how migration is impacting
life of migrant people – school, education, women’s problems etc,
quality of education….. etc and linking currant development / politics
etc. So, our examples must to real and representing people of the
given area. Language must be local and simple.

And we should propose strong alternatives addressing real problems of
the local communities with plan of action which has links with the
national left strategies.

Overall, Dear Combers, this is time to make change! We need to support
Left - Communist Party and all its candidates in 15th Election as this
is a time for a Great Change! This is a time to make decisions for
better and just future!
