Dear All,
The VoteLeft 2009 team is very glad to announce the launch of it's sms campaign with the first sms going to all subscribers today morning.
Not everybody in this country has access to the internet. Rather very few do. Even amongst those who do, they may be hard pressed for time to check emails and the like regularly. But VoteLeft 209 intends to reach all Indians irrespective of their location/economic/social condition. So keeping our campaign limited to just emails would have been very limiting in nature. Since the penetration of mobiles is very high in this country we are now using this medium too.
The number of registrations of mobile numbers is growing steadily. We request you to forward this email/message to all you know so that we can reach more and more people int he coming days. If you already are registered in our sms database then please forward the sms-es you receive to others on your contact list. Those of you who aren't please register now!
The success or failure of VoteLeft 2009 hinges on your support and contribution and VoteLeft 2009 aims to be an inclusive forum, so please send in any creative / content / technical info that you think will help us (for example campaign sms-es).
Another step towards a people's alternative this Lok Sabha election!!

living conditions, failure of crops, and exploitation by

Dear Vasudha and other voteleft sympathisers,
Here is a bad news. Due to a severe paucity of funds we were not able to pay our service provider on time. Whatever personal funds we had were spent in the sms campaign and other expenses. So the service provider pulled down our site without informing us.
Also, in spite repeated requests to a lot of 'experts' for help, owing to no 'official' stamp on this website, no one came forward to help us with the technical aspects in which we were admittedly weak.
VoteLeft 2009 as a website may have ended, but the mailing list stays intact. Not just that it is increasing in activity with each passing day.
The spirit of building a people's India lives on in th hearts of the VoteLeft 2009 team members and many of it's readers.

It's sad to see that some unwanted members are making chaos in this
community like Sreepati Jha. Anyway, it's still not late at all. I see
that the problems are acute as stated clearly by the moderator
comrade. I must accept my own responsibility for not doing anything
for the site as well as the group.
We are now all out to streets & crowds, we are mostly among the people
in our campaigns. We had got two/three messages from the voteleft209
team. And most gleefully I must pay the feedback that those messages
are roaming through thousands of cell phones now. A huge demand is
still there. Almost everyday my fellow-comrades are pestering to send
more, and newer messages with fresh slogans.
I am most materially not in a position to create messages and send.
Thus, taking all this in mind, I would suggest to take help of
"indyarocks" or "Orkut sms" so that we can forward the messages to our
urban, & most essentially to our comrades & sympathizers belonging to
the rural areas. They need more & more slogans & current affairs in
brief.
I would request to all to find out an alternative most immediately.
