vorpal hexapod with rpi and matrix creator

Hello I'm a fan of this hexapod and have the matrix creator header fro the raspberry pi and the other day just discover the fit for this combo is almost perfect with the original hexapod like porn for engineers as you can see in the picture:

it's maybe a little bit overkill the price and it has a few years but the amount of sensors and with the raspberry pi as processor could be the smartest hexapod you could build.

The first problem seems there is not raspberry pi code for the hexapod and the external pins of the matrix creator runs different from normal gpio of the pi header because are routed across the fpga(yes, there is an spartan 6 fpga for interface some components with the pi header like the microphone array) but there is code in python for using them as servo.

First ideas to build could be to use the led ring and the mic array for sound source follow and also has compass and space for camera with a wide angle lens for person and face detection.
