Forthe same, I am doing the first step i.e. search in Taskbar search: "Create a password reset disk", but when it opens a Forgotten Password Wizard it immediately hides itself and doesn't even come to focus when I once/repeatedly press Alt+Tab key pair.
Yes, it still exists, but sometimes the Forgotten Password Wizard will not open from the link in Control Panel/User Accounts/Create a Password Reset Disk or through Windows Search. Sometimes it will open in the background and is visible using Win+Tab. But you cannot bring it to the desktop. If this happens, close it with the X or through Task Manager (it will appear under rundll32). Now open CMD prompt and type: RunDll32.exe keymgr.dll,PRShowSaveWizardExW
I've got myself into a bit of a pickle and could really use your collective wisdom. I've been locked out of my Windows 10 computer (yeah, I know, should've written down the password) and I'm scratching my head on how to get back in. Has anyone here been through this and managed to reset their password without being able to log in?
I've seen a few methods online involving bootable USB drives and using command prompts, but I'm not super tech-savvy and a bit hesitant to dive into something that seems so complex. I'm looking for a more straightforward, beginner-friendly way to reset my password and get back to my files.
[Edit] A few folks asked me if the problem was solved? Yes. The password was reset with the help of Passcue Windows Password Recovery software. Thanks Jack888 for the recommendation!
Once, I also encountered a situation where I forgot Windows 10 password of local account. I was really a little panicked at that time. After all, all the important files were in that account. I remember that I really didn't want to use those complicated technical means at that time, and wondered if there was a simple way to solve it.
So, I saw a "Reset Password" link on the login screen. Although I hadn't noticed it before, I decided to click it this time. After clicking it, the system prompted me to answer the security questions I had set before. I was quite glad that I didn't fill in some random answers at that time. The question was the name of my elementary school. I remembered that I set the name of my alma mater and answered it without hesitation. Then the system actually let me enter the interface for setting a new password.
After entering and confirming the new password, I was able to log in smoothly. This experience made me realize that setting security questions is really useful, especially when you forget Windows 10 password.
@zcbadeedee Ophcrack is not recommended if the password was strong enough. Ophcrack relies on rainbow tables to recover the forgotten Windows 10 passwords. These tables are precomputed lists of possible passwords and their corresponding hashes. If a password is complex (long, uses special characters, or is otherwise not common), it may not be included in the available rainbow tables.
In addition, Ophcrack has not been actively updated to handle newer hashing algorithms or security measures implemented in Windows 10 and 11. Newer versions of Windows have strengthened password security. So it is no longer a good choice to reset Windows 10 password when the computer is locked due to forgotten password.
Once, I also encountered a situation where I forgot my Windows 10 password. I was really anxious at the time, after all, all my important documents and work data were on that computer. I tried various possible password combinations, but none of them worked. At this time, I remembered that I had a backup consciousness before and made a Windows 10 password reset disk.
I quickly rummaged through the boxes and found the USB drive and inserted it into the computer. I restarted the computer and went to the login screen. I saw a link to "Reset Password" and clicked it without hesitation. The system recognized my password reset disk and began to guide me step by step.
A Windows 10 password reset disk is a special type of disk that allows you to reset Windows 10 user account password if you forget it. This disk is created while you still have access to your account and can be used in case you get locked out. The below tutorial shows you how to reset Windows 10 password without logging in:
Once, I forgot Windows 10 password and it felt like the end of the world. I tried all possible passwords but none of them worked, and I became more and more anxious. However, I suddenly remembered that a friend once told me about a way to reset Windows 10 password using the command prompt. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time because it seemed too complicated, but now it has become a lifesaver.
So, I decided to give this method a try. First, I needed a Windows installation disk or a bootable USB drive. Fortunately, I had an old Windows installation disk at home, so I immediately found it, inserted it into the computer, and restarted to enter the installation interface.
Step 5. Open the Command Prompt: At the login screen, click the "Accessibility" icon (usually a small circle icon) in the lower right corner. Now, the Command Prompt should open instead of Accessibility.
Although this method sounds a bit complicated, it is actually quite smooth to follow the steps. After the operation, I successfully logged in to the computer with the new password, and the big stone in my heart finally fell. I really recommend that if you are also locked out, you can try this method, but you must be careful in operation, after all, it involves modifying system files.
We use the universal login form. When clicking on forgot password form, it asks to enter the username instead of the email. But some users do not remember their usernames. How can we change this behavior?
The user can enter their email and click on Continue to receive the forgot password email. To avoid confusion, you can customize the Change Password Wizard by sending a PUT request to the Auth0 Management API endpoint.
I created a custom Password list template and when I go to add a new shared password list the template does not show up as a choice from the drop down. It seems that many templates are missing but I can see them from the toolbox "password list templates". How can I get these templates to show up when creating a new password list?
Also, and we do not think this is the issue, but can you check that all accounts do have permissions to this new Password List Template? You can view permissions on the template from the Actions Menu, as per below screenshot:
And yes I verified that permission were set on this and multiple lists. I also see the other templates that permissions are not even set vs the custom template I created. I'd like a call to get this resolved. I've paid support with you and it's a bit troublesome to have to wait 24 hours for a response due to you being 12 hours ahead. Can this be scheduled? I've already submitted a ticket through your system on 10/13 but it seems your only means of communication is through the community.
Thanks for confirming, and yes we can schedule a call/remote session. On the following support page, can you let us know what times during our business hours you would be available - ?
And you can log support calls via email (ticket), but we thought we would respond to your question in the forums, instead of both.
The first screenshot below was the type of Password List Templates that were missing - where the 'Enable Password Resets' option was enabled.
The second screenshot below is the reason these Templates were not showing - as there were restrictions applied as to which users could create Password Lists with this option enabled.
The Reset VNC Server Password Wizard allows you to reset the VNC server password on remote Windows-based computers. The Wizard is compatible with the following VNC distributions: RealVNC, TightVNC, and UltraVNC.
To start the VNC Server Password Wizard, select Wizards & Tools from the Computer Manager tab of the Registered Computers resource frame. Alternatively you can open a context menu on the registered computers list and select VNC Tasks -> VNC Server Password Wizard command.
However, on reboot the admin page is now telling me to set up the device again and when I complete this and tell it to save a new admin password i just get a spinning circle. The password change does not save.
I can access the drives (4 JBOD) to stream music/films and i can see the files in Readycloud but Raidar says "offline setup - lan' and i can't add any files to the device as it can't get to the shares screen.
hey guys, im trying to install jenkins for windoes 10, and the installation wizard ask for my credentials
i swear i tried all option i could ever think of ( and i signed up like 30 minutes before and i wrote all the account fields)
i tried using my jenkins official account
i tried using the jenkins community account
i tried using my windoes user domain
This is the account that the Jenkins service is running under. If you are connected to a domain then you can pick a domain account to use. Otherwise, start with LocalSystem for now and you can switch it later as needed.
When Installing Jenkins, it is recommended to install and run Jenkins as an independent windows service using a local or domain user as it is much safer than running Jenkins using LocalSystem(Windows equivalent of root) which will grant Jenkins full access to your machine and services.
To run Jenkins service using a local or domain user , specify the domain user name and password with which you want to run Jenkins, click on Test Credentials to test your domain credentials and click on Next .
Hello. I am having an issue logging into the Emby server locally at the server. I am running Win10. I am not sure what prompted the requirement to manually log in, as it usually just starts and logs me in automatically.
