Ihave tried that today. I work at a golf course the relevant course is downloaded to the app but when i use the watch it does not pick up any golf course. It goes through transferring data then gets stuck trying to find course. It then goes to download more with garmin connect? But the courses are downloaded on the app.

Hi, I have a strange issue. All updates seem to have worked and the map Coverage updates all installed without issue. Only the TopoActive Europe 2019.10 won't install always giving error installing update. I have tried Garmin Express on Mac (main computer) and Windows even reinstalled Garmin express and reset fenix 6 to factory defaults. Nothing seem to work to install the updated map. See picture

Just a hunch, I had the same issue on my edge 530 while updating/installing trail forks maps, I was always getting an error, like yours. Apparently I needed to first login (create account) on trail forks on the device and then successfully updated via Garmin express.

Just received mine last night and was having similar problem but with North America updates. Install error message every time. I was connecting on my iMac through a USB hub so I closed out of Garmin Express and connected the Fenix 6 directly to a port on the back of the iMac. Rebooted and everything worked. Does not seem to like a USB hub for me.

Hi I have solve my problem. My Fenix 6 Sapphire was not a correct one. It had serial number of a Sapphire but it was a gorrila glas version and probably other issues are cause of the mixup in device. It returned it to the shop and they investigated it. All serial numbers and product code were correct but clearly the device was a complete other type. They replaced it with a correct one. Clearly stating its a sapphire version on the back plate. Now I'm installing the topoActive Europe 2019.10 on it. With out issues. May be some strange mixup in the factory caused this.

Mine kept saying that it had map updates just like yours but kept failing as well. I went to garmin connect (web version) and noticed the little watch icon in the top right corner (labeled Device and Sync Status when you mouse over) had golf clubs on the list of things to sync. I deleted those. Then I went to gear, deleted all the clubs (I never created them), and then was able to sync through Garmin Express.

After I did this, it no longer said there was a map update available and I could sync. I don't think there ever were updated maps; I think it was just a bug displaying that updates were available when they weren't because there was something that needed to be synced.

I have the same. I have tried reinstalling Express, tried to update on my Mac, on my Windows, freed up space (20Gb) on the watch, changed Wifi connections, there is definitely an issue that Garmin may need to resolve

Every day, sometimes once and sometimes several times a day, the watch gets into a state where it is constantly disconnecting and connecting to the phone. The watch just connects and then disconnects in 2-5 seconds and then reconnects and then disconnects again in a few seconds and this goes on and on forever.

Turning the watch off and on doesn't help, it keeps happening afterwards. Turning off and on the bluetooth on the phone doesn't help. The only thing that helps is restarting the phone or removing the watch from Garmin Connect and pairing it again but neither of the things help permanently, in a few hours the watch gets into a loop of connecting and disconnecting again and then I have to restart the phone again or remove the watch from garmin connect and pair it again.

I've seen a related post on here and am also experiencing the same for Fenix 7 SS from time to time. I decided not to lose sleep over it so switched off connection notifications (also because I don't walk around my house with phone so real disconnect notifications were just as annoying as false ones)

Never had any problems when I need watch to be connected to phone for Live Track or syncing activities so figured Garmin will get on top of it with a firmware update.

Unfortunately, for some Samsung phone models, we have observed that similar problems can occur. Typically these are mainly models A31, A32, A41. Our development team is investigating this issue and looking for a solution. Unfortunately, for now, it seems that the cause is a specific combination of modified Android and Samsung hardware, where the result is a repeated request for the phone to enter the pairing code. So we can't say right now how the problem will be resolved or how long it might take.

OP doesn't have an older Samsung or any of those models listed by support but rather a very new model (2021). I'm hoping this won't be a problem with the new S22 Ultra. I've had connectivity issues with an old Fenix and it's beyond annoying.

I don't have the listed phone but they mentioned "typically" it does not exclude my model. The models listed are cheaper phones that are more common. Also A41 and A32 and my S21 Ultra are last years models that were released together so it makes sence that these would be affected.

I use a 3 yr old Huawei, works okay. But I have had similar issues when I got this phone on pre-order. Just released and Garmin Connect caused connectivity to do crazy things. Managed to install an older version of the app which cured the connectivity. After an update all was okay, took few months though.

I have been meaning to make a comment in one of these posts for ages now. Every post i see about huge discounts on garmin watches are nothing but lies. Since i bought my fenix 7 saphire solar like 2 years ago for $999 that has been the price for that configuration. All of the other configurations that doesnt include saphire solar has always been $599-$699. So please tell me where the huge discount lies because i dont see it. I really like your videos but i really dislike posts like this.

Usually this is following an update and the watch needs rebooting. Sometimes when you turn it off it hangs and comes back on rather than reboot so you may need to hold the power button in until it switches off. This will reboot without resetting settings.

I know this post is from a while ago, so you might not see this, but he has the link above to his article from December with thoughts on the watch updates. His prediction is between June and August for the next gen it looks like

Thank you max, wanted to let you know I took that deal and just received my Epix Pro today (overall about 2 weeks from order, delivered in Italy). For the record this version with the leather band comes with a nicer premium box.

Garmin dropped me a fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar, the brands tippy-toppy smartwatch and does everything you could ever think of. It has the standard step counter, calorie counter, altimeter, and workout features, but also pulse oxygen levels, EKG, body battery, sleep score, heart rate variability, stress levels and other sensors and a suite of graphs that show you further breakdowns.

But motorcycles (separate stories for adventure, sport, cruiser, and dirt bikes are all in the cards), PWCs, hunting use and using motorcycles to access hunting spots, and whatever else comes my way will also make an impression on those graphs, and will deserve a story each.

Finally, elevation tracks have been especially good for me. I think the trick here is to enter a manual elevation outside your front door and then forevermore Garmin will always use a starting calibration based on that before you head off on a workout.

Fear not. More features will follow in 2022/23. Sure the Fenix 6 will also get most of them but the older your existing Fenix, the less likely it will be given the newer feature or, indeed, it may simply be unable to run them.

So what excites me the most are the performance and benefits offered by an optional touchscreen plus the high-resolution screen of the Epix Gen 2 version. A quality screen and improved interface finally move the Fēnix closer to the smartwatch superiority of the Apple Watch.

Adding Solar, Sapphire and Titanium each bumps up the prices. You should seriously consider sapphire to protect the lens plus Sapphire is the ONLY way to get the dual-frequency, multi-constellation GNSS goodness.

I recommend Garmin, Wiggle, BackCountry or REI where first-time customers are usually prompted to get a 15% joining discount/bonus. Nice, if you can get it. This single link automatically clicks to a choice of retail stores in your country eg Wiggle, PowerMeterCity, Amazon, REI, B&H, Walmart, Competitive Cyclist & Backcountry

Thanks for the summary, it will indeed be interesting to see if the internals have been improved enough to allow for acceptable map scrolling speed, especially with the touchscreen. Apparently the FR945 was already better than the F6 for scrolling.

You cannot directly compare electrical ECG and optical HR. A pulsewave is not the same as an electrical cardiac wave. Sure, they correlate, but for example a heart attack, which can in many cases be measured in an ECG by ST-elevation, simply does not show up in a pulsewave.

When buying from the EU, the local EU sales tax should not be charged by the retailer

instead you should pay a similar amount with import tax and duty (and an admin fee). I think schemes exist for larger companies to prepay this for you (eg maybe amazon)

yep I kinda agree with most of that.

The 5X is definitely too big for most of those of use with smaller wrists. If worn over clothing I guess its different.

For anyone that is REALLY and ACTIVELY using a map on the wrist then the X size certainly makes a lot of sense.

I do remember the signal dropouts! #Disaster

the 955 is real and NOT hypothetical!

it already has running power via CIQ.

NATIVE running power is NOT a cert to come but i think it will as sources say it will

It will then DEFINITELY go to F7/Epix2
