Please Read: MIST Philly Tomorrow!!

Assalaam Alaikum everyone,

This is a long email but PLEASE read it thoroughly so that you don't miss out on important information!! Thank you! If you read it, you are responsible for making sure your entire team knows all of the information here.

As you all know, the first-ever MIST-Philadelphia Tournament will be taking place tomorrow inshallah! 

First, some exciting news. We have confirmed our keynote speaker for the award ceremony, Hamza Perez, star of the award-winning documentary "New Muslim Cool." Check it out: http://www.newmuslimcool.com/

Here's all information you need to know (again, please!! read through this):

1. Competitors: please arrive at the location (exact directions are given below) at 8 am sharp on Saturday and 10 am sharp on Sunday. We will be finishing at 5:30 pm both days inshallah. You must notify a MIST staff member if you will be leaving early or coming late or leaving the building (note: this will only be allowed in rare circumstances).

    Volunteers: you will be coming an hour earlier than competitors on both days, unless you are working a different shift (please refer to the email you received from Afshan regarding the times you are to come). 

2. Don't forget your t-shirts and banners for tomorrow! Those who have them will receive bonus points for their team (which will go toward the overall team aspect of the competition). ** Just a note that banners do not have to be huge; sometimes, people just make posters... but the more elaborate, the more points you can get.

While team spirit covers dress on Saturday, note that for Sunday, you will be expected to look sharp and wear business casual. Please remember to keep all clothing appropriate for the event at all times.

** All work to be submitted must be brought to Registration on Saturday morning. 

** Basketball will be talking place on Sunday, so you don't need to bring a change of clothes on Saturday.

Everyone entering the building must bring photo id; a school id works, too. Please don't forget this!

Guests: Any guest whose name we have not already been given will need to be signed into the building. Please be patient with us as we do this. These guests will not be allowed in until we sign you in. A reminder that all guests, with the exception of coaches, who have not been paid for online, must pay $15 on Saturday morning.

Meals: We will be providing lunch and dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday for competitors. Non-competitors will have to pay $10 total for the three meals. ** It's going to be a long two days, so you may want to consider bringing snacks as well.

***Location: Huntsman Hall, on the University of Pennsylvania campus. 3730 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104. 

How to get there: Get to the intersection of 38th and Walnut Streets. If one is facing West, turn left at the intersection and walk down 38th St. towards the bridge. Turn left immediately before the bridge, and the entrance is on the left right after the Au Bon Pan. 

Note: You may only enter through this entrance if you are not a Penn student. Someone will be there to show you the exact location, but you will be going to the MBA Lounge.
