Hi Volley users,

Volley version 1.2.0-rc1 has been pushed to Google Maven and Maven Central. The .aar and source distributions are also available on GitHub. This is a release candidate build intended for early adopters.

Due to JCenter/Bintray's upcoming sunset, this release and future Volley releases will no longer be published to JCenter/Bintray. If you are not already using Google Maven (maven.google.com, aka the predefined "google" repository in Gradle) or Maven Central, please migrate to the platform of your choice. We intend to publish future releases to both repositories. You may also want to follow along here for more details on the JCenter deprecation as it relates to Android as a whole.

Highlights in this release include an experimental asynchronous rewrite of RequestQueue with a Cronet-based network stack, APIs to monitor Request status, and numerous bug fixes. Please see GitHub for detailed release notes.

There should be no need to change existing client code when upgrading to the new version.

Please report any issues you find, either with the release itself, or with our new deployment mechanism.

A special thanks goes to the numerous external contributors to the Volley codebase for this release.

Thanks,
Jeff

Since no issues have been reported over the last two weeks, this build has been promoted to 1.2.0 with no further changes.
