Asterisk for Intranet

I want to configure asterisk so that it works for internal
calling to other softphones only in the intranet.
So pls help me reagarding this :
I want to know following things :
--Packages to be install
--Files to be configure
--Settings of the softphones

Hi geeks,

I'm very new to Asterisk ans VOIP. I'm tracing the Asterisk code,
after going through the Doxygen generated documentation
also feeling very difficult to understand it. So please tell me
how to trace the code and where i can get the complete documentation,
and which books i'm supposed to read for better understanding of VOIP
and
Asterisk.
