Hi everyone!
I'm new to Asterisk, and I'm experiencing some problems about getting
it up and running. I have downloaded Asterisk for windows from
www.asteriskwin32.com, and followed the animated installation guides
there. This site recomends the Firefly softphone, but it's no longer
possible to download Firefly from Virbiage. Instead I have downloaded
X-Lite.

I have read the first 6 chapters in "Asterisk - The future of
telephony" (ATFOT) by Meggelen, Smith and Madsen. I have configured the
files extensions.conf, sip.conf, iax.conf and zapata.conf according to
the description in ATFOT, and I should be able to dial 611 and check
the echo, but I get the message that "The person you're trying to call
is unavailable".

How do I configure these files so that I can make a call between two of
my computers?

Do I need a TDM400P card? I thought I didn't need one if I just wanted
to make VoIP-telephony.

I would be grateful for any help.
