TBone, Vonage is about as good a VoIP network as any. However, you
can only use "locked" devices with them, that is, the VoIP hardware
that they supply. Some networks allow you to use any endpoint that
supports their protocol set. You are using gmail so you probably see
ads for a few of them along the right side of your screen. I used
vonage for a couple years when it first came out, and I got tired of
hangups due to network hickups. Since then I hear they have improved.
Personally, I run off a friends Asterisk PBX, and I have three access
methods: a cell phone, land line, and a couple of VoIP lines. I don't
think I could do with just two out of the three.
