It seems that the VoIP.ms API server (which my app, as well as "VoIP.ms SMS", which is NOT one of my apps) is unable to connect. I put in a trouble ticket three days ago, but no one has got back to me. I have to assume that since they are STILL having issues with their primary bread-and-butter VoIP servers, they don't have the time to waste on third party app providers.

The bottom line is rather grim: If they can't soon fix the issues that the Denial of Service attacks have created for them, they may not be long for this life. A VoIP provider that can't provide reliable phone service is not going to keep its customers. But hey, I'm hoping they do fix things and recover from this attack, because I really like their service.

While you're here, if they get the API server working and if they stay in business, is there any chance of getting the voicemail bug fixed?

I manage an IT company and running out of patient with VoIP.ms outage. We loved the service but it's starting to impact our business flow tremendously. Thankfully our business number wasn't with VoIP.ms so we quickly forwarded the line to our cell instead of relying on the IVR and the call flow we have established with VoIP.ms. As a technology enabler being adaptive to change quickly and learn new technologies is a key in keeping us successful. We are currently experimenting with Microsoft 365 business voice and so far the product seems to be very reliable and covers most telephony features. I'm happy to provide insights if anyone is considering switching to Microsoft 365 business voice and if you are in Canada I can get you started with very minimal cost.

Has this problem been resolved?

It is not working for me, although I am in a foreign country traveling  (Taiwan) and they seem to have cut out access to VOIP.MS  webpage using Cloudflare  protection  I did try with a VPN and it still does not work.

Their server seems to be back online, but for some reason I can't get my app to work with it. Whenever I send a request string to their API server, I get back a "403 Forbidden" error. However, if I take that VERY SAME string and paste that into my browser, I get a normal response back. I put in a Trouble Ticket with them about this over a week ago, but due to how busy everyone is there, I didn't get a response until just yesterday. However, the response merely apologized for having taken so long to reply, and then just asked if everything was working again. I told them it wasn't, and I've got my fingers crossed they'd reply a bit sooner this time now that things are returning to normal there.

I wanted to update everyone on the current state-of-affairs. I'm hopeful they'll get back to me with something I can use to finally fix this problem. After that, I just have to cross my fingers that Google hasn't changed any rules concerning approval of this app. If I encounter any further difficulties as a result of Google Play rules, I'll post an interim build here in this group.

Hi,
The VoIP SMS app is working. So there now seems to be something specific to your app that prevents it to connect. Maybe compare the headers that your app sends in the POST request with the ones that the browser sends, something might be triggering the new protections they've put in.

And for the $64000 question... Have you fixed the bug in your app that trashes voip.ms voicemail settings?

Sorry for not addressing that problem. I've been super busy on other projects and barely had the time to fix the issue that kept my app from reconnecting with VoIP.ms servers after their DDoS issue. I promise I'll try to get around to it, but I'm not sure when I'll have the time, so don't assume it will be in the next few days.
