I recently received an email from Google Play telling me that if I cancel my monthly subscription, I will only have access to minimal features on the console.

I had previously cancelled and installed the app from scratch, but got a message at that time that without paying for a subscription, I would only have minimal features...so consignment with the warning email.

I'm not sure what to do. Please advise.

I'm not sure why they're sending you a warning, but the type of subscription matters. If you're referring to the legacy subscription that I set up originally, you should have canceled that ages ago anyway. I fixed the code so that it recognizes the old V1 license key purchased from Google Play to Grant you lifetime access to the app without having to maintain a subscription.

If you are talking about a regular monthly subscription, then it's telling you exactly what is the case. So long as you have the monthly subscription running then you get full access to the app and all its features. However, if you do not renew the subscription and allow it to lapse then you will only be allowed to use the free features of the app.

If you don't want to keep paying a monthly subscription there are other options, as you could get a yearly subscription or a lifetime subscription where you pay once and never worry about it again.

Perhaps I haven't fully understood what's going on here, so if it seems I haven't, please explain in greater detail what you meant by this warning and also tell me which subscription you originally chose.

Steve, I cancelled the V1 subscription ages ago like you said and fully deleted the app from all of my devices. When I went install the new V2, the only app available on Google Play was the new V2 subscription and that's what I installed. Perhaps I missed something, but that's what happened. In any case, I was under the impression that there was only meant to be a one time charge for the new V2 subscription, but I guess I was mistaken.

My partner and I searched for the legacy key that you talked about last night and couldn't find it anywhere.

I had apparently been misled about how that legacy subscription would work, and so I changed the app so that it would now give you full access to the app if you had installed the V1 license key. If you uninstalled it, don't worry, because Google Play will remember that you paid for it and allow you to reinstall it at no charge. As soon as you have reinstalled the V1 license key, relaunch VoIP.ms Console and you should get the pro version, which you will see noted in the title at the top.
