House Number Announcements

Hi everyone,

I am currently transitioning from Ariadne GPS to Voice Vista. I am still customising everything so that I don’t get overwhelmed, but I think it is going to work well for me on the whole.

The one issue I do have is with house numbers: with Ariadne, I can set it to monitor and report my location every ten seconds. Thus, if I am walking down a residential road, I get very close to hearing what house number I am passing as I pass it. This is fantastic when I need to visit someone at their home as I can take a really good educated guess at the house number before reverting to something like Seeing AI for the final couple of doors.

With Voice Vista, as I understand it, the minimum criteria for house number announcements is every fifty metres or every one minute. This is just not suitable for my needs, I’m afraid. On the road where I live, the houses are only about ten metres apart from each other if that, and I pass a new house about every three seconds. If I have to wait a whole minute between house number announcements I will have easily passed twenty houses, which is no good if the last house announced was number 12 and I am looking for house number 20.

If I have understood Voice Vista’s settings correctly, could I please appeal for the developer to reduce the minimum possible time and distance between house number announcements? Ideally, every ten metres for distance and every three seconds for time is where I would like mine set.

If I have not understood how this aspect of Voice Vista works, please could someone explain how to get the near instant house number announcements that I am looking for?
