Would it be possible to drop the spoken word "approaching "intersection name while travelling in a vehicle?
It adds an extra word that does not add much in the way of value. Removing the word "approaching "would make it slightly less verbose.

I received a reply, but wasn't able to read it.

The extra word "approaching" has three sylabols. Any reduction of spoken information that isn't contributing to all of the information we have to hear when travelling independently is necessary to make sure we don't miss something important. There is so much happening around us when on public transit; people talking, next stop announcements, emergency vehicle sirens, etc.
