Saturday, August 9th - Go Ventures presents the Love Festival

Go Ventures presents the Love Festival at the West and North sides of
the Sports Arena, on Saturday, August 9th. The event gets under way at
7:30pm, and goes until 4am the following morning.

Tickets are $45 for general admission, and $75 for VIP. Please note
that day of show VIP tickets will go to $100.

Tickets are on sale now at the Sports Arena Box Office, all
Ticketmaster outlets, online at Ticketmaster.com and by charge by
phone at 213/480- 3232.

Sat. & Sun., August 23rd and 24th - El Sembrador Ministries

El Sembrador Ministries returns to the Sports Arena with Congreso de
Catolicos, Spanish language, Catholic services and presentations, on
Saturday and Sunday, August 23rd and 24th.

Services start at 8:30am each day, with doors opening at 7am on
Saturday and 7:30am on Sunday.

Tickets for this event will be available at the Sports Arena Box
Office on the day of the event only. For advance tickets, please
contact El Sembrador at 818- 260-0222 or log on to
www.elsembrador.org.

Sunday, August 31st - The Nike Human Race 10k

The Nike Human Race 10k comes to Exposition Park on Sunday, August
31st. The starting gun sounds at 8:30pm.

This year, the course begins and ends at the entrance to Exposition
Park, which is immediately adjacent to the intersection of 39th and
Figueroa Streets.

There is a $35 registration fee, and this fee also includes admission
to a post race performance by Kanye West.

Saturday, September 6th - The 8th Annual U.S. Sumo Open

The 8th Annual U.S. Sumo Open comes to the Sports Arena on Saturday,
September 6th. Prelims start at 10:30am, with the finals beginning at
12:30pm. Doors open at 10am.

This year's Open features no less than 45 Sumo Champions in
competition, including 8 National Champions and 2 World Champions.
Among those featured will be Mongolia's 6'1", 340lb. Byambajav
Ulambayar, last year's overall champion and an odds on favorite to
repeat this year as well.

Among the other international champions set to compete are Germany's
6'7" 460lb. Torsten Scheibler, Bulgaria's 6'7" 350lb. Petar Stoyanov,
2006 U.S. Sumo Open Lightweight Champ Erdenebileg Alagdaa of Mongolia
and 2007 U.S. Open Lightweight Champ Munkhjargal Ulziibayar.

There will be no shortage of American talent as well, as this year's
competition will feature Kelly Gneiting, a two time U.S. Sumo Open
Champion; Wayne Vierra, the 2006 Silver Medalist; Dan Kalbfleisch, the
current U.S. Sumo Open Champion in the Heavyweight division; Kena
Heffernan, the current U.S. Sumo Champion in the Middleweight
division; and Trent Sabo, a five time U.S. Champ and World Cup Champ
in the Lightweight division.

Tickets are $100, $65, $50 and $35 for reserved seating, $15 for
general admission. They can be purchased at the Sports Arena box

Thursday, September 25th - Naturalization Ceremonies

On Thursday, September 25th, the Sports Arena will be the site of
Naturalization Ceremonies. There will be a total of three separately
conducted ceremonies throughout the day and the public is invited to
attend.

More information will be announced shortly.

Saturday, September 27th - Farmers Insurance Angel City Classic

The Farmers Insurance Angel City Classic, featuring football
competition between two traditionally black colleges, comes to the Los
Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, September 27th.

This year's Classic features Prairie View A&M taking on Morehouse College.

A full day's worth of activities will be featured, including a
College/Career Expo, Cultural Festival, Vendor Fair, Youth Football
and High School Band Competition, all kicking off the morning at 10am.

A Drumline and Step Show will begin at 12noon, followed by the 2pm
kickoff for the Angel City Classic itself. During halftime, the
marching bands for the two schools will wage their own competition.

Tickets are $45 for reserved seating, $25 for adult general admission
and $10 for children's general admission. Tickets are on sale now at
the Sports Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, online at

Saturday, September 27th - Rodeo de la Decada

Rodeo de la Decada comes to the Sports Arena on Saturday, September
27th, featuring an array of first class talent. Performing during the
evening will be Tigres del Norte, Chapo de Sinaloa, Ezequiel Pena and
Paquita la del Barrio.

The event begins at 6:30pm and goes until 11pm.

Tickets are $110, $80 and $60 and are on sale now at the Sports Arena
Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, online at ticketmaster.com and

Monday, October 13th - Verizon presents HOW SWEET THE SOUND - The
Search for the Best Church Choirs in America

This summer, Verizon Wireless is challenging church choirs from coast
to coast in the company's nationwide How Sweet the Sound Gospel choir
competition.

Expanding upon last year's successful event in Memphis, Tenn., Verizon
Wireless is now giving choirs in 11 cities a chance to compete in the
national grand finale for a cash prize of up to $50,000 and the title
of "Best Church Choir in America".

Grammy Award winning songwriter, producer/arranger and music director,
Donald Lawrence, will be the tour emcee as the event makes its way to
the Sports Arena on October 13th.

The show gets under way at 7:30pm, and tickets are $7 and $5. Get your

The following games comprise the 2008 USC Trojan Home Football Season
at the Coliseum:

- vs. Oregon on Saturday, October 4th 5pm
- vs. Arizona State on Saturday, October 11th, Time TBA
- vs. Washington on Saturday, November 1st Time TBA
- vs. Cal on Saturday, November 8th 5pm
- vs. Notre Dame on Saturday, November 29th at 5pm.
