Dear Neighbors, friends and fellow Neighborhood Associations,
I just spoke with Jennifer Tomlinson at Boise P&Z and she informed me
that the City Council held an 'early' hearing at noon today concerning
Lumber Products appeal.
The City Council voted to deny Lumber Products
appeal, based on the facts and evidence we've all presented at the
hearings.
This 150,000 sq. ft. Warehouse & Trucking facility will-not be built in
our neighborhood !!
I asked what other options Lumber Products might have and Jennifer said
they could make an appeal to the District Court, but didn't feel that would
prove very beneficial.
Folks, you all deserve a pat on the back, in my 7-8 years of dealing with
these kinds of issues this is a very rare victory. We won because of our
aggressive diligence and unity, despite several last-minute hearing
cancellations by Lumber Products.
These 'timely delays' have been a classic tactic used for years
by Developers to erode citizen support. A tactic used especially
in the legislature during citizen sponsored Annexation Reform
hearings, when too many citizens show-up to testify against Idaho's current
Forced Annexation law.
Many thanks for your help, wishing you all a very Merry
Christmas.
