We've heard from a couple people something like this, "If I don't run Voice Choice or make calls for a while, Voice Choice stops working correctly. I make a call and it doesn't work, then I immediately call that same number again and it does work. What up with that?" Or something similar. ;)

If you're experiencing this, please leave your feedback here and provide this info:

1) Are you using 2.0 Beta mode? If so, do you have the same issue after reverting to version 1 mode?
2) Direct call list or Google Voice list?
3) Phone model/Android version(including custom rom info if applicable)
4) Estimate on how many numbers are on your list? (500, 1000, 2000?)
5) Anything else you think might be relevant at all...

Hi everyone,
So I've been testing this all day, and here's what I come up with:

1) This problem was on 2.0 beta mode. So far, I haven't been able to
reproduce the bug on version 1 mode, so that's good!
2) This was using the Google Voice list (so any number on the list for
Voice Choice would be called using Google Voice)
3) I'm using the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Verizon running Android 4.0.2
(Ice Cream Sandwich).
4) I don't know exactly, but I would say I have a couple hundred of
numbers on the list.

Thanks!

I can confirm that I have observed this exact behavior.

1/ 2.0 Beta mode
2/ Google Voice List
3/ Nexus S, I9020A, running stock Gingerbread 2.3.6
4/ ~ 40 contacts listed
5/ I'm not sure if this is relevant or not, but I have found that my ringtone configuration also seems to revert to defaults as well.  In the event that this is worth noting, I don't have custom ringtones per contact or anything, just one that I configured with the help of Ringdroid.

cheers,

Brad

I don't know that it has anything to do with how frequently I use
Voice Choice. I use my phone regularly often using both phone numbers
and can't see any pattern or predictability.

1) Using 2.0 Beta, but the issue started on version 1 once the Beta
mode was released. I updated to Beta 2.0 because I was having the
same issue using version 1. Haven't tried reverting but I have tried
un and re-installing VC.

2) Google voice list

3) Droid Incredible using Cyanogen.

4) 100-200

5) I'll call a number not on my gv list and get a popup saying 'gv
aborted' (good) but then a split second later another popup saying
'calling with gv' (bad).
The same thing (but opposite) sometimes happens with people on my
'call with gv' list where it calls without using gv. Sometimes I can
just hang up and redial and the call will go through with the
appropriate number. Sometimes the redial won't resolve itself. I
can't see any sort of pattern.

Love the concept of the app (and the app when it works) and am looking
forward to a fix. Thanks for everything.

Just checking in real quick guys. We're working on a quick fix that should take care of this. Basically with 2.0 there was a redesign that seems to have thrown some things off, clearly. We should be able to sort of "mix" the way that the first version worked together with the 2.0 method of saving/retrieving data. Stay tuned. Now that Christmas has passed we should have some time open up to get this out there. Thanks for your support, patience and feedback.

Don't worry guys, we haven't forgotten about this.

Quick question for those with the issue, do you have "Quick Dial" enabled in Voice Choice settings?

Good news is, I am now able to reproduce the issue on my own phone and I am starting to get an idea of what's going on here.

The other bit of (semi) good news is that you can solve this(temporarily) by switching into Direct Call List mode, and reverse your list. This might be a pain, depending on how your list is set up, and may be a huge pain if you want unknown numbers to be called with your cell phone number. If you do have those occasional unknown numbers to call, remember you can use Quick Dial.

Hopefully that makes sense, and hopefully this will all be solved shortly.

It's fixed!

Go get version 2.0.8 from the market and enjoy(I just barely hit upload, so it may take a bit for Market to refresh). Thanks for your patience everyone.

So far, so good!   I'll be sure to "run it through the paces tomorrow", but it seems to be working better now - and the Android Market notification issue is definitely fixed now!

Thanks!

@Ron, it sounds like Google Voice is failing in that case. If in fact you wanted the call to go through Google Voice then Voice Choice worked correctly. Make sense? Let me know if I'm missing anything.
