I'm a fairly new user of Voice Choice and have an enhancement request.
My Droid X is employer provided, so I use Google Voice for my personal
calls and my mobile number for my work contacts. I also have work
friends that I use both numbers with. I'm also frequently adding new
contacts for work and personal use, so I would see value in having 3
categories.

Direct - Uses always uses my mobile number
Google Voice - Always uses Google Voice
Prompt - Prompts to use Google Voice or Direct

The Prompt would be the initial default for all contacts. When
calling, Voice Choice could offer to remember my preferences.

We appreciate the suggestion, as always. We will evaluate how this would best work.

My initial reaction is to try to keep things simple for the majority of users. So perhaps there could be some type of "Advanced mode" that would allow for multiple lists, etc. What do you think?

Kevin,

An advanced mode would be fine, although I think if you set it up so
that it would prompt the first time each number is used that it would
be pretty simple... I picture it working like this:

1. Dial Number (fist time)
2. Prompt: Google Voice or Direct
3. Prompt: Remember choice? Always or Never.

This would allow the user to compile the different lists as they used
the numbers instead of segregating the numbers up front. The 4
scenarios would result in 3 lists.

Google Voice > Always: The number always dials via Google Voice
Direct > Always: The number always dials directly
Google Voice > Never: The number dials via Google Voice this instance,
then prompts Google Voice or Direct the next time it is dialed (no
prompt to remember choice)
Direct > Never: The number dials directly this instance, then prompts
Google Voice or Direct the next time it is dialed (no prompt to
remember choice)

I hope this makes sense

We are very close to our version 2.0 release. I think soon after in say, version 2.1(though don't quote me on that) we will do an advanced mode. Thanks for the feedback/suggestion.

I think oolowrideoo makes a very good suggestion.

If possible, you could also simply make "Ask every time I make a call" the default in Google Voice, but then have any call made to a number on two lists you make (one group of contacts to call with google voice, the other without) sent through the respective number.  I'm in same boat as oolowrideoo, in that I use GV for personal calls and my cell number for business calls.  I see there is a feature to add + to the end of a number to dial it through whichever service you've selected, but that's kind of a pain.  I'd rather be prompted on the numbers not in either list.  Otherwise the app doesn't really work for me because I can't make outbound calls with the right service half of the time because anyone not in the right group gets arbitrarily called with the default service.  Thanks for the good work- hoping to see these updates soon so I can use the app.
