Hi,

I've been playing with recording some gameplays with OBS lately, and I've had to fight with the "Recording devices" settings to also get audio (and not via the mic). I think I got that now, but another issue have popped up.

Earlier (before testing OBS) I did not have "Stereo Mix" enabled, but now I have to. Even if the microphone is set as "default communications device", and the Stereo Mix is set as "default device", Voice Attack won't listen until I change some settings back and forth:

- Either disable Stereo Mix (thereby defaulting microphone as default everything), or just set the mic as default everything (Default Communications Device and Default Device).
- Shut down VA
- Start up VA
- Set or enable "Stereo Mix" again, as "Default device". Leave mic as default communications device.

And then it works. Seemingly, the setttngs is as they were before, but I still need to do it. If I shut down VA and start it again, I need to do it over again.

I have not set "Force legacy audio" in VA btw (maybe I should?). Now using VA beta version 1.5.8.8 that I just installed, but the issue was also with beta 1.5.8.2.
Using windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Ragnar

Hi, Ragnar.

'Force legacy audio' is for audio output (in place of Windows Media components).

As far as the device settings, I'm kind of at a loss there, as the speech engine works only with the default audio input device.  Start VA, object instantiates, audio is set to default, VA continues running.  Anything outside of that and it's kind of foreign territory (any number of a billion configurations/settings on any machine).

Sorry I can't be much help on that!

Hi again,

Ah ok, well at least I know how to make it work. Just a bit puzzled about the settings back and forth thing, As it's back to the same settings.
And thanks for replying! Awesome support and software!

Btw, I seem to have fixed the issue as per your post here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/voiceattack/0Cksig2tNQk
Setting the audio input source directly from Control Panel - Speech Recognition seems to do the trick :)
