How do you setup voiceattack to recognize a new word??

I plan to use the program in a game called star trek online. the
problem is, some of the commands i want for the game are Klingon. How
can i program voiceattack to recognize the word/phrase??

any examples (or guides), is appreciated.

thanks,
R.

Hi, Richard.

I found an article that might be helpful :
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Add-or-edit-words-in-the-Speech-Dictionary

VoiceAttack uses the Windows Speech Recognition engine by default, so,
this article should apply. I've only tested this a little bit (with
just a couple Klingon words from the web). I typed in the new words
and added the pronunciation recording for each. I closed down the
Windows Speech application and then started VoiceAttack so it would
load up the profile & it seems to do the job. Of course, I don't know
if I was even pronouncing the words right (would probably get socked
in the jaw by a Klingon).

I'm working on allowing direct access to the Windows control panel
applets to make some of this a little easier (training, text to
speech... I'll add this, too!). Until then, we'll have to do some
footwork to get in and out of the control panel :(

Hope this helps!

Gary

thanks for the reply. I posted 2 other questions i had while working on setup, so if you can reply to the remaining 2 questions, i'd really appreciate it.

I'll probably be purchasing this item tonight, waiting for the answers to the other 2 questions first. hopefully, receiving the key will be quick.

thanks,
Richard

i have learned through trial and error for star trek online that when voice attack doesnt wanna recognise certain words i just open windows speech recognition, since its the engine i have voice attack set to use..  right click on the icon in the system tray, click on open speech dictionary, then click add new word or phrase...  type or say the word or phrase, (be sure to wait after your done typing as the mic will pick up the sounds of the keystrokes and add extra numbers or keys... ) and just follow the instructions on recording what it should sound like...
