I bought voice attack the day before yesterday and it worked absolutely brilliant. Today when i click the shortcut nothing happens. When I go to the folder and click the executable nothing happens. I checked task manager to see if its hidden but can't find anything there either. What do i do?

I have now completely uninstalled it redownloaded the installfile from http://www.voiceattack.com/download.aspx run it and checked the launch program box after it installed. And it still won't open.

Do you use Radeonpro? I had the same problem and reinstalled, it didn't work, but after I added an exception for VA in Radeonpro VA started working again.

Are you using a virus scanner? I have the same problems, since AVG gets an update two days ago.
Try to deactivate the scanner for the VA start.

Okay that worked, I temporarily disabled AVG and I could open voiceattack. Do you know how to fix it so I don't have to turn off  my protection every time I want to start it?

Most antivirus & firewall applications have an option to exclude an application. I do not have AVG so do not know the process but you should be able to google how to do it.

yeah can confirm, voiceattack doesn't work unless excluded from avg since update yesterday, weird, seems to be related to identity protection?

I tried to add both the .exe file and the entire voice attack folder to the exlution list and it made no difference... So I just uninstalled AVG and downloaded a new free antivirus. Panda free antivirus does not affect voice attack and I am satisfied by that. Thanks for identifying the cause of the error wiesel.

I've submitted the VoiceAttack installation package for AVG to look at its files for whitelisting.  Hoping that will help in this.

I was able to get it to launch by adding it to the exceptions in AVG > Options > Advanced Settings > Exceptions > Add Exception > Type: Application or file > Putting check marks in all three exception options.

I use NOD32 and have no problems running VA with it installed. Didn't have to allow it or anything like that ni NOD32, it just worked for me. I am on Win7 Ultimate, in case that matters.

Are you running the beta version? There was an issue a couple of beta versions back. I had to uninstall and reinstall on that occasion. Gary thought he had fixed it in the latest version, maybe he missed something? There is a zip file you can download from the site that you can use to replace files in the folder where VA lives. That might be an option to look at. If you are going to upgrade/reinstall, I recommend you take a copy of the data file with your profiles in it. I would say back them up, but that means VA needs to run first.
If none of those work, you are in Gary's hands from that point forward!

Regards,
Slan

I've got the trial version and downloaded it from the voiceattack.com it should be the latest version. Tried to reinstall but no luck. But something changed it used to give me some error pop-up but now it does nothing when i try to open it and i've never been able to run the program so i don't have any profile :D

Ah that sounds like the last full release then, so the uninstall/reinstall would not make a difference.
Are you running the program as Administrator?
Afraid, it's up to Gary now!
