Hi. VoiceAttack is great but I've run into what may be a programming quirk. One of my commands includes the keystroke for VoiceAttack's Recognition Global Hotkey so I can use the microphone with another program without fear of triggering a VA command. But VA doesn't seem to recognize it's own Recognition Global Hotkey whether that key is sent as standard or ActiveX. Am I right that this is the case or am I missing something?  More broadly is there a way to have a VA command turn off VA's mic?  Thanks.

To answer your question, Mike, you can issue a voice command to turn VoiceAttack's listening on and off.  When you go to set up your macro, choose, 'Other' and then choose, 'Make VoiceAttack start listening' or 'Make VoiceAttack stop listening'.  Somewhere around page 18 in the VoiceAttack manual.

What you have done is you've set up a key press to turn off your listening...  at that point, your listening is just off.  The only thing you can do to turn the listening back on via voice command is to have a macro that contains a, 'Make VoiceAttack Start Listening command' (it can be at any point in the macro, even at the end... used to be a standalone feature, but it can now be part of a macro).

Hope that helps some!

Thanks Gary, it does help. I now remember seeing that command in “Other” but it went in one eye and out the other. I appreciate your replying so quickly.
