Hi Gary

Love the program btw.

Sorry if this has been asked but I have not been able to find and answer by searching.
I have just updated to the latest beta (1.5.7.70) hoping the "reject pending speech" option would be what I was after but it's for after speech not before speech. If that makes sense.

I am using beta because of the ability to change the volume level of the responding voice, I am also using the Astra voice pack for Elite.

My problem is this: I live alone therefor I don't use a headset for my games of Teamspeak or voice attack, it all comes through my speakers.
Is there any way to stop voice attack from listening when I do not have the button pressed to actually listen?
Talking to people on TS and other noises are being picked up by voice attack on the front of my speech so therefor the commands are not being recognized. I have to make sure I leave a gap of a second or so before I can press the button and speak my command. As you can imagine this is very hard to do if someone on TS is talking in the heat of battle.

Any help would be great.
Thanks

If I understand you correctly, you are looking to use your push-to-talk button to make Voice Attack start listening, and you want voice attack to be in the "stop Listening" state any other time.
If that's right then try this:

Let's say your PTT button is Right Control. Create these two commands:

Command 1:
Action Taken: Make Voice Attack Start Listening
Activated By: Keyboard Shortcut = Right Control  (leave the bottom box unticked "Shortcut is invoked only when all keys are released")

Command 2:
Action Taken: Make Voice Attack Stop Listening
Activated By:Keyboard Shortcut = Right Control (plus tick the bottom box "Shortcut is invoked only when all keys are released")

When you hold Right Control, VoiceAttack will start listening. Once you release Right Control, the "Make Voice Attack Stop Listening" command will be executed.
Just replace the Right Control in my example to whatever your PTT button is.

here are the two commands I made to test this out.

Just change up the keyboard shortcuts to whatever you want your PTT button to be.

nevermind. It seems that it actually takes a second or two for the "Start Listening" command to be fully activated so you'd still have to wait a second or two after pressing the PTT button before any commands would be heard by VA.

Thanks for the suggestions but it's not really what I am after.

Basically what I want is for VA to not be listening when I DO NOT have PTT button pressed.
Even when you don't have the button pressed VA is listening for the "wake up" command in everything your saying in order to turn on listening all the time. It's annoying.

So, what exactly is annoying?  The little bar going back and forth?  That's the only thing I can think of that's going on other than it's waiting for a signal.  There's nothing going into the log, either.

It's still listening though.
I will try and give an example: Friend joins team speak and says Hi mate. I press PTT button and say to VA deploy landing gear. VA does not deploy the landing gear because it has picked up the words spoken before I pressed the button therefor it comes up and says Unrecognized: 'hi mate deploy landing gear'

That is what's annoying :)

I don't have a solution for you on that now, Kris. I will think on it and see if there's something I can come up with.
