Tried several profiles that have not changed and even some new ones VA recognizes the voice command shows the comment box with a lightning bolt, but does not execute the commands.  This is the case even when just VA is open and I'm testing the voice commands.  Haven't changed anything today just stopped working before I upgraded and still doesn't work after the upgrade.  Any Ideas?

I am experiencing the exact same issue.

Administrator Mode - Yes
Firewall Permitted - Yes
Send Commands to Notepad - No Joy
Send Command to Active Window - No Joy
Send Commands to Word - No Joy
Voice Attack Reset to Defaults
Command Key Press Hold = .1 seconds (Have tried up to .5 seconds and as low as .05)

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

I'm kind of stumped where to troubleshoot next.

Windows Speech Recognition software works perfectly fine and has been trained.

Have you tried sending commands to Notepad using a new profile with commands that you have created?

Yes.  I created a command that sends a single key character to the active window (Notepad) and to Notepad; no text was displayed in either situation.

I also added a read to speech recognition command after the keypress which was successfully executed by the computer.

So, I know that Voice Attack is parsing through the commands. But, I just can't seem to figure out why the keypress commands are not being sent to the specified application.

I am going to do some more testing to see if the key presses are the only commands that are not being executed and I will report those results.

Interestingly, I tried several other commands as well and found a few discrepancies.

The VA interface will launch another application. However, I cannot get it to issue mouse commands whether it's moving the mouse to a new XY coordinate or to program a series of mouse movements.

I was using a Logitech G710+ keyboard and a Razer Nostromo with a Logitech G500 mouse. I uninstalled the drivers for the Logitech equipment and installed a wireless Microsoft keyboard and mouse, rebooted and attempted VA again with no success.

Success!

I was able to get Notepad to generate key presses and the mouse to execute commands after I uninstalled Razer Synapse 2.0, Logitech Gaming Software and the Logitech automatic updates for my camera.

I'll add them in one by one to find out which might be causing the problem and post an update.

I suspected these items due to conflicts I've read about between the Razer and Logitech software and thought that it might be keeping Voice Attack from inserting commands in the data stream. I don't really know enough about API programming to speak other than symbolically; so, please forgive any inaccuracies in my description.

I added each of the applications back in one by one to determine which one was the offending culprit.

None of them were, after re-installing Razer Synapse, Logitech Gaming Software and re-enabling the Logitech automatic updates, Voice Attack still worked.

*****> The Important Part <*****

As I was texting my brother, it hit me; I had made one more change. I had set the User Account Control Settings to Never Notify but had not yet rebooted my system before I uninstalled the other software.

So, I set the UAC Settings to Always Notify and rebooted. As I suspected, Voice Attack would not execute key presses or mouse commands. I changed the UAC back to Never Notify, rebooted and Voice Attack works.  I also tested the UAC default setting with a reboot and was successful.

My system was originally set to UAC Never Notify because it was annoying when I was doing alot of installations a few months ago. However, something with the permissions must not have applied correctly. I recommend others experiencing a problem getting Voice Attack to work set UAC to Never Notify; Reboot and run test of VA. Re-set UAC to default; reboot and retest.

All of this testing was performed with Voice Attack run as administrator.

Good Luck.
